Sanya EPrix
The 2019 Sanya ePrix (formally the 2019 FWD Sanya E-Prix) was a Formula E electric motor race held in Sanya on the Chinese island of Hainan on 23 March 2019. It was the 6th race of the 2018–19 Formula E season, and the first and only Sanya ePrix. Report Background The Sanya ePrix was announced as part of the 2018–19 calendar in June 2018 by Formula E founder, Alejandro Agag, and was confirmed as season 5's 6th race on 10 January 2019. It was the first time an ePrix was held in Sanya and was run on the Haitang Bay Circuit. Going into the race, Sam Bird led the championship with 54 points and a point over Jérôme d'Ambrosio and 2 points over Lucas di Grassi and Edoardo Mortara, who were tied on 52 points after Mortara's win in the previous round in Hong Kong. Lucas Di Grassi
Lucas Tucci di Grassi (born 11 August 1984) is a Brazilian racing driver, who competes in Formula E for Lola Yamaha ABT. In formula racing, di Grassi competed in Formula One in , and won the 2016–17 Formula E Championship with Abt. In endurance racing, di Grassi was runner-up in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2016 with Audi. Born in São Paulo, di Grassi began racing karts at the age of ten, and achieved early success in the regional and later national kart series. He progressed to car racing in 2002 and was the runner up in the Formula Renault 2.0 Brazil and Formula 3 Sudamericana championships. Oliver Turvey
Oliver Jonathan Turvey (born 1 April 1987) is a British people, British professional racing driver, who most recently competed in Formula E, and is currently signed to DS Penske as a reserve driver and a sporting advisor. He was a notable Karting, kart racer, with two national titles, and was the 2006 McLaren Autosport BRDC Award winner. His career has been supported by the Racing Steps Foundation. Gary Paffett
Gary James Paffett (born 24 March 1981 in Bromley) is a British former racing driver. Having become a household name in the DTM, following fifteen years in the series and two championship wins, Paffett moved onto Formula E for the 2018/19 championship, after it was announced in 2017 that Mercedes would no longer be taking part in DTM. Paffett was also a test driver for the Williams Formula One team, having previously worked in a similar role at McLaren for a number of years, during the team's successful title winning years. HWA Team
HWA Team, also known as HWA RACELAB, is the auto racing team of HWA AG, a German company based in Affalterbach, that also develops and builds vehicles and components for Mercedes-AMG race cars. It is named after founder Hans-Werner Aufrecht. History HWA was responsible for managing the AMG Mercedes team in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM). HWA AG was founded in 1999, and takes its name from Hans-Werner Aufrecht, who established AMG in 1967. Towards the end of 1998 Aufrecht sold a majority interest in AMG to DaimlerChrysler AG. As part of the process, the motor racing department and parts of the customised vehicles construction business were spun off and transferred to HWA AG. Pascal Wehrlein (; born 18 October 1994) is a German and Mauritian racing driver, who competes in Formula E for Porsche. In formula racing, Wehrlein competed under the German flag in Formula One from to , and won the 2023–24 Formula E World Championship with Porsche.
