Sanem
Sanem ( ; ) is a commune and town in south-western Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Esch-sur-Alzette. The administrative centre and largest town is Belvaux. , the town of Sanem, which lies in the north of the commune, has a population of 2,800. Other towns within the commune include Belvaux, Ehlerange, and Soleuvre. Sanem Castle
Sanem Castle (, ), located in the village of Sanem near Esch-sur-Alzette in south-western Luxembourg has a history dating back to the 13th century. There are historic references mentioning a castle in Sanem during the 13th century when it was closely related to the nearby Soleuvre Castle. Esch-sur-Alzette (canton)
Esch-sur-Alzette () is a canton in southwestern Luxembourg. It is both the second most populous and second most densely populated canton after the canton of Luxembourg. It borders Belgium & France. History Like the other cantons of Luxembourg, the canton of Esch dates back to 31 August 1795. However, it was created under the name of the canton of Soleuvre. This term was of short duration since, already on 22 October 1796, a new decree renamed it the canton of Bascharage. Bascharage canton was less spread-out than the current canton of Esch since Leudelange, Pontpierre, Bettembourg and Dudelange belonged to the canton of Hesperange, created to the south of the capital. Bascharage canton, on the other hand, included Marner, which is now in Capellen canton. Simone Asselborn-Bintz (born 24 January 1966 in Esch-sur-Alzette) is a Luxembourgish educator and politician of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party. Käerjeng
Käerjeng () is a commune in southwestern Luxembourg, in the canton of Capellen. It lies on the border with Belgium. It has an area of 33.67 km2. The commune of Käerjeng was formed on 1 January 2012 from the former communes of Bascharage and Clemency. The law creating Käerjeng was passed on 24 May 2011. With a population of approximately 11,000, Käerjeng is the 10th most-populous commune in Luxembourg. Geography Käerjeng is located on the dividing line of the waters of the Rhine basin (Eisch) and the watershed of the Meuse (Chiers). Esch-sur-Alzette (, ; ; or ''Esch an der Alzig'') is a city in Luxembourg and the country's List of communes of Luxembourg by population, second-most populous commune, with a population of 36,625 inhabitants, .
