Sai Kung North
Sai Kung North refers collectively to the areas on the southern side of Tolo Harbour and the northernmost part of the Sai Kung Peninsula. Part of this broad area is served by Sai Sha Road, a motorway between Sai Kung and Ma On Shan. Geography Geographically it is a practical exclave of Tai Po District, along with Shek Ngau Chau, Tap Mun and Tung Ping Chau. Sai Sha Road
Sai Sha Road () is a main road connecting Sai Kung and Ma On Shan. It begins at the roundabout at Mak Pin, Sai Kung and passes through Three Fathoms Cove and Shap Sze Heung before traversing the new town of Ma On Shan and Wu Kai Sha and ending at Hang Tak Street in Tai Shui Hang. The MTR Tuen Ma line track section between Heng On station and Wu Kai Sha station is placed directly above Sai Sha Road. Other than MTR stations, several estates lie next to the road. The length of the road is approximately 11.2 km. Despite the road having close to no slope, it includes many bends. Cycling is prohibited along most of Sai Sha Road on Sundays and public holidays along the section from near Nai Chung bus stop to Mak Pin roundabout, where the road is narrow and busy with continuous double white lines and few passing places. Pak Tam Au
Pak Tam Au () is an area within the Sai Kung East Country Park, on the Sai Kung Peninsula in the New Territories of Hong Kong. It is administratively under the Tai Po District. Village The small village at Pak Tam Au is said to have a history dating back to the second half of the 17th century. It was first settled by members of the He (surname), Ho () and Chen (surname), Chan () families coming from Liaoning province. The Chans first settled in Ting Kok and then moved to the village. Historically, the villagers were mainly farmers growing rice and vegetable and rearing pigs and poultry. Three Fathoms Cove
Three Fathoms Cove or Kei Ling Ha Hoi () is a cove in Tai Po District, Hong Kong. Geography Three Fathoms Cove is surrounded by Shap Sze Heung (Tseng Tau, Nga Yiu Tau, Sai Keng and Kei Ling Ha are along the coast), Yung Shue O, Wong Tei Tung and Sham Chung. Most of its east shore constitutes part of the Sai Kung West Country Park. To the north the cove is connected to Tolo Harbour and the Tolo Channel. Ma Liu Shui
Ma Liu Shui is an area in Sha Tin District, in the New Territories, Hong Kong. The area faces Tide Cove (Sha Tin Hoi) and Tolo Harbour. The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Science Park are located in Ma Liu Shui. Name etymology Ma Liu Shui is directly and phonetically translated to English from "馬料水" in Cantonese. Wong Shek
Wong Shek (Chinese: 黃石), or Wong Ma Tei (Chinese: 黃麻地), is an area in the northern part of the Sai Kung Peninsula in Hong Kong. It is under the administration of Tai Po District. In the area, there are picnic facilities with views of the sea. However, to protect the natural environment of Wong Shek, the Government controls the number of vehicle entering the area; a gate is set up at Pak Tam Chung on the way towards Wong Shek, which only allows permitted vehicles to enter. There is also a public pier called "Wong Shek Pier". "Wong shek" means "yellow rock" in Cantonese. Transportation The most common way to reach Wong Shek is by bus.
