Ridgeback is a British bicycle brand manufacturing road, urban, utility, youth and mountain models. Their bikes are distributed by Sportline UK which is owned by H Young Holdings. History Ridgeback's story started in 1983, when founder Errol Drew created the first UK mountain bike. Drew first spotted a mountain bike at the 1982 New York Bike Show, where he declared it “the future of cycling.” Ridgeback's next major development was the creation of the flat handlebar road bike. Ridgeback Resources Inc. is a Calgary, Alberta-based private oil exploration and production company focused on light oil in the Bakken and Cardium resource plays, in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. On December 29, 2016, Lightstream Resources Ltd. announced the closing of its asset sale to Ridgeback Resources Inc. As of March 1st, 2023, Ridgeback Resources Inc. is now Saturn Oil and Gas Inc. Acquisition of Lightstream Following the announcement, all of Lightstream's directors resigned. Former president and CEO of Lightstream, John D. Ridgeback Biotherapeutics is a Miami-based biotechnology company, primarily known for its involvement in developing a successful COVID-19 medication. Ridgeback is privately owned by hedge fund manager and physician, Wayne Holman (formerly of S.A.C. Capital Advisors) and his wife Wendy Holman. Wendy is the CEO at the company, which refers to itself as a majority woman owned business. In early 2020, Ridgeback purchased an exclusive license for the commercial development of Molnupiravir from Emory University, where the drug was initially developed with $16 million in grants from Federal agencies including the National Institutes of Health. The terms of the deal were undisclosed. Molnupiravir was initially researched as a treatment for influenza, but may have broad spectrum activity against other viruses. Phu Quoc Ridgeback
The Phu Quoc Ridgeback (Vietnamese language, Vietnamese: ''Chó Phú Quốc'') is a rare list of dog breeds, breed of dog from the island of Phú Quốc in Kiên Giang Province in southern Vietnam. It is one of three ridgeback breeds, the others being the Rhodesian Ridgeback and the Thai Ridgeback. It is not recognized by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale or any other major club. The Phu Quoc Ridgeback is one of the four native Vietnamese dog breeds, along with the Bắc Hà dog (Chó Bắc Hà), Lài Dog, Lài dog (chó lài), Hmong bobtail dog, Hmong Bobtail Dog (chó H’Mông cộc đuôi).
