Lame-O Records Artists
Lame-O Records is an independent record label based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded by Eric Osman to release Modern Baseball (band), Modern Baseball's ''Sports (Modern Baseball album), Sports'', the label has been hailed as one of Philadelphia's best indie labels. History Lame-O Records was founded in 2012 by Eric Osman, manager of the band Modern Baseball (band), Modern Baseball, to release the band's debut LP record, LP ''Sports (Modern Baseball album), Sports''. Osman funded the 300-copy pressing with savings earned working at Coffeehouse, coffee shops. Though ''Sports'' earned the label no profit, it quickly sold out and has subsequently been repressed four times. The label was not originally supposed to continue beyond ''Sports'', but Osman decided to take advantage of the opportunities afforded by the success of the first album. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand in the early to mid-1980s. Although the term was originally used to describe rock music released through independent record labels, by the 1990s it became more widely associated with the music such bands produced. The sound of indie rock has its origins in the New Zealand Dunedin sound of the Chills, Tall Dwarfs, the Clean and the Verlaines, and early 1980s college rock radio stations who would frequently play jangle pop bands like the Smiths and R.E.M. Saint Vitus (venue)
Saint Vitus, also called Saint Vitus Bar, was a bar and music venue located in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Opened in April 2011, the venue was known for its heavy metal atmosphere. The magazine ''Kerrang!'' described Saint Vitus as "one of the most important locations to see loud music in the entire world." ''Pitchfork'' named it "The Best Metal Bar in New York City". In February 2024, the New York City Department of Buildings shut down Saint Vitus over multiple violations. In August 2024, Saint Vitus' owners announced that the venue was permanently closed. The First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia is a Unitarian Universalist congregation located at 2125 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The band underwent several line-up changes, with lead vocalist/guitarist James Alex serving as the band's leader, figurehead, chief songwriter and sole original member. Hurry (band)
Hurry is an American indie rock band formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2012. The band is composed of Matthew William Scottoline (vocals, guitar), Joseph DeCarolis (bass), Robert DeCarolis (drums), and Justin Fox (guitar). History Hurry began as a solo project for principal songwriter Matt Scottoline, bassist of emo revival band Everyone Everywhere. He wrote the first ten to twenty Hurry songs as a way to write his own material and play guitar rather than bass. Scottoline decided to release his home recordings on Bandcamp under the moniker "Hurry," chosen as a self-deprecating joke about his writing process; he writes quickly and rarely finishes a song if it is not completed in a single session. After releasing the demos, Scottoline recruited other musicians to perform the songs live, including Everyone Everywhere guitarist Brendan McHugh and Univox bassist Rob DeCarolis on drums. Spraynard is an American punk band from West Chester, Pennsylvania. History Spraynard began in 2008 with the release of a split EP with Captain, We're Sinking via Creep Records. In 2010 the band released a split with Paramedic! via Square of Opposition Records and a split with Sundials via Evil Weevil Records. In the same year Spraynard released their debut full-length album titled ''Cut and Paste'' via Runner Up Records. On May 10, 2011 Spraynard released their second full-length studio album titled ''Funtitled'' via Asian Man Records.
