I-League Managers
The I-League is the men's second professional football division of the Indian football league system behind the Indian Super League. Administered by the All India Football Federation, it is currently contested by 13 clubs. It operates as a system of promotion and relegation with the Indian Super League (ISL) and the I-League 2. The competition was founded in 2007 as the successor to the National Football League, with the first season starting in November 2007. The league was launched as India's first top-tier professional football league with the aim to increase the player pool for the India national team. I-League operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the I-League 2 and at first only promotion system with the ISL, from the 2022–23 season. All India Football Federation (AIFF) is the governing body of football, futsal and beach soccer in India. It is a member of FIFA, and is affiliated with the Asian Football Confederation and South Asian Football Federation. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. List Of Indian Football Champions
The Indian football champions are the winners of the highest league in Indian men's football, which is currently the Indian Super League. Though Indian football tournaments dates back to the eighteenth century, a proper league system, the National Football League (NFL) was established in 1996, playing it first season in 1996–97. Its champions were considered the national champions. After the 2006–07 season, the NFL was rebranded, becoming the I-League with its champions continuing to be considered national champions until 2017, when the Indian Super League (ISL) became the country's joint premier football league. 2006–07 National Football League (India)
The 2006–07 National Football League was the 11th and final season of the top Indian professional league for association football clubs before it is rebranded as the I-League from 2007–08 season. This change was part of a broader effort to a professionalize the league. Overview The league was contested by 10 teams with Dempo winning the championship under the guidance of coach Armando Colaco.
