Hong Kong EPrix
The Hong Kong ePrix was an annual race of the single-seater, electrically powered Formula E championship, held at the Hong Kong Central Harbourfront Circuit in Hong Kong. The track was touted as a potential venue for the all-electric series’ inaugural race. It was first raced in the 2016–17 season as the first major international motorsport event in Hong Kong. In its third run in the 2018–19 season, the 2019 Hong Kong ePrix became the 50th race of Formula E since the series' inception in 2014. It was widely expected to be the first wet race in Formula E racing history. Drivers tested the grip levels in both shakedown and practice sessions on a fully wet track, but it did not eventuate. 2016 Hong Kong EPrix
The 2016 Hong Kong ePrix (formally the 2016 FIA Formula E HKT Hong Kong ePrix for sponsorship purposes) was a Formula E Electric motorsport, electric motor race held at the Hong Kong Central Harbourfront Circuit in Hong Kong before a crowd of 30,000 people on 9 October 2016. It was the first race of the 2016–17 Formula E Championship and the first edition of the event. The 45-lap race was won by DAMS, e.Dams-Renault driver Sébastien Buemi who started from seventh place. Abt Sportsline, Audi Sport ABT's Lucas di Grassi finished second and Mahindra Racing, Mahindra driver Nick Heidfeld was third. Nelson Piquet Jr. won the pole position by recording the fastest lap in qualifying. Hong Kong Central Harbourfront Circuit
The Hong Kong Central Harbourfront Circuit is a street circuit on the Central Harbourfront on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong, facing the Victoria Harbour. A layout was used between 2016 and 2019 for the Hong Kong ePrix of the single-seater, electrically powered Formula E championship. Its first use was on 9 October 2016, as the opening ePrix of the 2016–17 Formula E season and its last use being in 10 March 2019. A rallycross circuit on the Harbourfront was separately designed for the FIA World Rallycross Championship in the season finale of its 2023 season. Nick Lars Heidfeld (; born 10 May 1977) is a German former racing driver, who competed in Formula One from to . Born and raised in Mönchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia, Heidfeld began competitive kart racing aged 11.
