Enix Games
Enix was a Japanese video game publishing company founded in September 1975 by Yasuhiro Fukushima. Initially a tabloid publisher named Eidansha Boshu Service Center, it ventured in 1982 into video game publishing for Japanese home computers such as the PC-8800 series, the X1 series, and the FM-7. Enix initially found games to release by holding contests for programming hobbyists and publishing the winners, with the first titles appearing in February 1983. Enix continued to hold contests and publish the winners through 1993. When Enix moved into traditional publishing for video game consoles in 1985, it began with ports of two of its more successful games, '' Door Door'' (1983) and '' The Portopia Serial Murder Case'' (1983). Enix
was a Japanese multimedia publisher who handled and oversaw video games, manga, guidebooks, and merchandise. It was founded in 1975 by Yasuhiro Fukushima as Eidansha Boshu Service Center, initially as a tabloid publisher and later attempting to branch into real estate management. Beginning in 1982, Enix began publishing video games. Notable early collaborators were designers Yuji Horii and Koichi Nakamura, artist Akira Toriyama, and composer Koichi Sugiyama. Horii, Nakamura, Toriyama, and Sugiyama would all work on the 1986 role playing video game '' Dragon Quest'' for the Family Computer; one of the earliest successful RPGs for consoles, it spawned a franchise of the same name which remained Enix's best-known product. PAL Region
Phase Alternating Line (PAL) is a color encoding system for analog television. It was one of three major analogue colour television standards, the others being NTSC and SECAM. In most countries it was broadcast at 625 lines, 50 fields (25 frames) per second, and associated with CCIR analogue broadcast television systems B, D, G, H, I or K. The articles on analog broadcast television systems further describe frame rates, image resolution, and audio modulation. PAL video is composite video because luminance (luma, monochrome image) and chrominance (chroma, colour applied to the monochrome image) are transmitted together as one signal. A latter evolution of the standard, PALplus, added support for widescreen broadcasts with no loss of vertical image resolution, while retaining compatibility with existing sets. ActRaiser
is a 1990 video game developed by Quintet and published by Enix for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It combines traditional side-scrolling platforming and sections with city building elements. A sequel, '' ActRaiser 2'', was released for the Super NES in 1993. In 2007, ''ActRaiser'' became available on the Wii's Virtual Console download service in Europe, North America, and Japan. A version of the game was also released for European mobile phones in 2004. (also called Tose Software) is a Japanese video game developer based in Kyoto. It is mostly known for developing Nintendo's Game & Watch ports and remakes#Game & Watch Gallery series, ''Game & Watch Gallery'' series, various ''Dragon Ball'' games, as well as contract work or assistance to other developers. The (GBC or CGB) is an 8-bit handheld game console developed by Nintendo. It was released in Japan on October 21, 1998, and to international markets that November. Compared to the original Game Boy, the Game Boy Color features a color TFT screen rather than monochrome monitor, monochrome, a Central processing unit, CPU that can operate twice as fast, and four times as much memory. It retains backward compatibility with games developed for its predecessor. Heartbeat (company)
(sometimes Heartbeat) was a Japanese video game developer, famous for developing the sixth and seventh installments of the ''Dragon Quest'' series. Heartbeat also developed a remake of ''Dragon Quest IV''. Plans to localize this remake in North America were halted when the employees of Heartbeat decided to take a sabbatical in January 2002. The company stated its reason was "the raise of development costs", despite the massive financial success of its games. Several of its former members created Genius Sonority. The company now appears defunct.
