Elverum () is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Østerdalen. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Elverum. Other settlements in the municipality include the villages of Heradsbygd, Sørskogbygda, and Neverlia. Elverum lies at an important crossroads, with the town of Hamar to the west, the town of Kongsvinger to the south, and village of Innbygda and the Swedish border to the northeast. Innlandet is a Counties of Norway, county in Norway. It was created on 1 January 2020 with the merger of the old counties of Oppland and Hedmark (Jevnaker Municipality and Lunner Municipality were transferred to the neighboring county of Viken (Norwegian county), Viken on the same date). The new county has an area of , making it the largest county in Norway after the division of the old Troms og Finnmark county in 2024. The region was known as Opplandene or Opplanda since the middle ages. Glomma
The Glomma or Glåma is Norway's longest and most voluminous river. With a total length of , it has a drainage basin that covers 13% of Norway's surface area, all in the southern part of the country. Elverum Church
Elverum Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Elverum Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the town of Elverum. It is the church for the Elverum parish and the seat of the Sør-Østerdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The brown, wooden church was built in a cruciform design in 1738 using plans drawn up by the architect Nicolai Gustav Sandberg. The church seats about 700 people. History The first church in Elverum was a small, wooden stave church that was probably built during the 13th century. This church was located about north of the present church, roughly on the same site as the town's triangular park. Oppland is a former county in Norway which existed from 1781 until its dissolution on 1 January 2020. The old Oppland county bordered the counties of Trøndelag, Møre og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Buskerud, Akershus, Oslo and Hedmark. The county administration was located in the town of Lillehammer. Hedmark () was a Counties of Norway, county in Norway from 1 January 1919 to 31 December 2019, bordering Trøndelag to the north, Oppland to the west, Akershus to the south, and Sweden to the east.
