Department For Business And Trade
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is a Departments of the Government of the United Kingdom, ministerial department of the Government of the United Kingdom. It was established on 7 February 2023 by a February 2023 British cabinet reshuffle, cabinet reshuffle under the Sunak ministry, Rishi Sunak premiership. The new department absorbed the functions of the former Department for International Trade and some of the functions of the former Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy. The department is headed by the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, assisted by a number of junior ministers. The incumbent is Jonathan Reynolds. The Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) was a Departments of the Government of the United Kingdom, ministerial department of the Government of the United Kingdom, United Kingdom Government, from July 2016 to February 2023. The department was formed during a machinery of government change on 14 July 2016, following Theresa May's appointment as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Prime Minister. It was created by a merger between the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Department for Business, Innovation, and Skills and the Department of Energy and Climate Change. On 7 February 2023, under the Sunak ministry, Rishi Sunak premiership, the department was dissolved.
