Criminal Investigation Service
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is the primary investigation arm of the Philippine National Police. History The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group was established as the Criminal Information Service whose origin traces back as early as 1901 shortly after the establishment of the Philippine Constabulary when the Information Section was established as mandated by the Section 2, Article 255 of the Philippine Commission. In 1920 the Information Division was integrated with the United States Army Forces in the Far East and its detectives participated at the Battle of Bataan, many of which also were forced to participate at the Bataan Death March. After World War II, the Military Police Command was activated in lieu of the Philippine Constabulary. A Criminal Investigation Branch of the G2 to investigate crimes and maintain peace and order. Philippine National Police
The Philippine National Police (PNP; ) is the national police force of the Philippines. Its national headquarters is located at Camp Crame in Bagong Lipunan ng Crame, Quezon City. Currently, it has approximately 228,000 personnel to police a population in excess of 100 million. The agency is administered and controlled by the National Police Commission (Philippines), National Police Commission and is part of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). Local police officers are operationally controlled by city or municipal mayors. DILG, on the other hand, organizes, trains and equips the PNP for the performance of police functions as a police force that is national in scope and civilian in character. The PNP was formed on January 29, 1991, when the Philippine Constabulary and the Integrated National Police were merged pursuant to Republic Act 6975 of 1990.

Jesus Verzosa
Jesus Ame Verzosa (born December 25, 1954) is a Filipino retired police officer who served as the chief of the Philippine National Police. Early Life and Education Verzosa was born on December 25, 1954 at Dasol, Pangasinan to Pedro Verzosa, a retired Army colonel and Luz Ame Versoza. He then took his basic education at Muntinlupa, Rizal, graduating from NBP Reservation's Itaas Elementary School in 1967 and Muntinlupa High School in 1971, both as class valedictorian. He then entered the Philippine Military Academy and graduated as part of the "Magilas" Class of 1976. Among his classmates are former Armed Forces of the Philippines Chiefs of Staff Alexander Yano and Victor Ibrado, as well as former Thailand Mine Action Center Director General Tumrongsak Deemongkol. Rappler (portmanteau of the words "rap" and "ripples") is a Mass media in the Philippines, Filipino online news website based in Pasig, Metro Manila, the Philippines. It was founded by 2021 Nobel Peace Prize laureate and convicted cyberlibelist Maria Ressa along with a group of fellow Filipino journalists as well as technopreneurs. Nicolas Torre
Nicolas Deloso Torre III (born March 11, 1970) is a Filipino police officer serving as Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) since June 2, 2025. He is known to be the first PNP chief to have graduated from the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), being a member of the PNPA "Tagapaglunsad" class of 1993. Torre previously served as the chief of police in Samar (province), Samar province, Quezon City, and Davao Region.
