Cliffside Park is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 25,693, an increase of 2,099 (+8.9%) from the 2010 census count of 23,594, which in turn reflected an increase of 587 (+2.6%) from the 23,007 counted in the 2000 census. Cliffside, also known as H. E. Lawrence Estate, is a historic home located at Palisades, New York, Palisades, Rockland County, New York. It was designed by J. Cleveland Cady and was built in 1876. The estate house is a two-story, L-shaped, Colonial Revival architecture, Flemish Colonial Revival style stone dwelling. It features a steep cross-gambrel roof and a one-story wraparound verandah. Cliffside (Scottsville, Virginia)
Cliffside is a historic home located near Scottsville, Albemarle County, Virginia. It was built in 1835, and is a two-story, brick central passage plan dwelling on a high basement in the Federal style. A side passage rear ell was added between about 1850 and 1860. Both sections have low-pitched gable roofs and the front facade features an original single-story, tetrastyle Greek Revival portico. Also on the property are a contributing structure, the "Ginger House", a one-story frame office/schoolhouse probably erected in the mid-19th century, and the family cemetery. Cliffside is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in southeastern Rutherford County, North Carolina, United States. Its population was 530 as of the 2020 census. Cliffside has a post office with ZIP code 28024. U.S. Route 221 Alternate and North Carolina Highway 120 pass through the community. Demographics History Cliffside was founded as a company town by Raleigh Rutherford (R.R.) Haynes, who established a textile mill there on the Second Broad River in 1899. Haynes had previously helped to build up the mills and factories of nearby Henrietta and Caroleen High Shoals, a former community in this vicinity, was a post office as early as 1828. It was entirely owned by Haynes and his business partners, who owned all of the property, homes and farmland in the town. Cliffside is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, located along the Scarborough Bluffs in the district of Scarborough. Its boundaries are Kennedy Road to the west (where Kingston and Danforth Road merge), St. Clair Avenue East to the north, Brimley Road to the east, and the Bluffs on the lakeshore to the south. Cliffside Railroad
Cliffside Railroad was a Class III railroad operating freight service in southwestern North Carolina from 1905 until service ended in 1987. The line was formally abandoned in 1992. History The Cliffside Railroad Company was incorporated on March 2, 1905, and the 3.7-mile railroad line was opened between Cliffside, North Carolina to Cliffside Junction that same year. In 1984, the railroad acquired the Seaboard System Railroad branch line between Ellenboro, North Carolina and Cliffside Junction, increasing the railroad's total mileage to 8.14. By the 1980s, the railroad's traffic mix included textile products, waste, and scrap, and the railroad was owned by the Cone Mills Corporation and others. Late in 1987, the railroad's service was suspended. The line was formally abandoned in January 1992.
