Cleo (name)
Cleo is a feminine given name, derived from the name Clio in Greek mythology. As a spelling variant of Clio, the name is etymologically derived from the Greek root κλέω/κλείω, Latinised as ''kleos'' (meaning "to recount", "to make famous", "to celebrate", "glory", "to praise" or "to acclaim"). Clio was the muse of history, who was responsible for providing inspiration to historians and poets. The name has been embraced by many cultures where Greek influence was felt, including Cleopatra, the powerful queen of ancient Egypt, whose name was derived from Cleo. In Western societies in more recent times, Cleo has evolved as a variant or short form of Cleopatra and used as a given name. It was commonly used for boys as well as girls in the early twentieth century, after being made popular by the 1917 silent film starring Theda Bara. Popular Cat Names
The popularity of cat names differs by nation, even in nations with the same language. The ranking of the most popular cat names can be assessed, in particular, from pet insurance registrations, microchip registrations, and breed registries. In the English language Adrian Franklin, senior lecturer of the School of Sociology and Social Work at the University of Tasmania and author of ''Animals and Modern Cultures'', told the '' Sunday Tasmanian'' in 2001: "In the 1950s and '60s dogs and cats were given ' dog' and ' cat' names. ..Cats had names like 'Blackie' and 'Spotty', names that illustrated their physical appearance. The 1980s marked a turning point, with the 10 most popular dog names all being compatible as human names, but in the '90s this progressed even further. People are now giving animals the same names as contemporary names given to babies." He believed that as people have fewer children or no children at all, pets become more important in their lives. In Australia, t ...

Cléo Pires
Cleo Pires Ayrosa Galvão (born 2 October 1982), known mononymously as Cleo, is a Brazilian actress and singer. Career She made her debut as an actress when she participated in the ''Memorial de Maria Moura'' mini-series in 1994. It was a quick participation of just one episode in which the protagonist, Maria Moura, as a young woman, was replaced by her mother, Glória Pires, in the adulthood of the character. After that, she distanced herself from TV and the media, believing that she had no vocation to follow in her mother's footsteps. Cleo says she saw Gloria working day and night without stopping, the press invading her privacy and the phone ringing all the time, and that she did not want it for her future. She still says she just did not stand in the middle before, out of lack of will. Not that she had anything against her career, but it was something she did not think about, it was not in her head. A curious fact is that even the film being one of her passions, when aske ...
