Circles (film)
''Circles'' (/Krugovi) is a 2013 Serbian drama film directed by Srdan Golubović. The film was selected as the Serbian entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. The film won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival and the Golden Apricot, Grand Prix, Golden Apricot at the 2013 Yerevan International Film Festival, Armenia, for Best Feature Film as well as the Grand Prix at CinEast, 2013 CinEast Festival. Synopsis The film is inspired by the true story of Bosnian Serb soldier Srđan Aleksić who died protecting Bosniak civilian Alen Glavović in January 1993 in Trebinje during the Bosnian War. Srdan Golubović
Srdan Golubović ( sr-cyr, Срдан Голубовић; born August 24, 1972) is a Serbian film director and university professor. Biography Golubović's father was a film director Predrag Golubović. His first feature film '' Absolute 100'' participated in main programs of over thirty international film festivals, including Cottbus, Rotterdam, Thessaloniki, Toronto and San Sebastian, winning 10 international and 19 domestic awards. His second feature film '' Klopka'' ("The Trap") had its world premiere at the Berlinale in 2007. The film has won a total of 21 international awards and was shortlisted for the Oscar in Best Foreign Language Film category. Along with a team of young film artists, Golubović is the main vehicle behind the production company Baš Celik, making music videos for a number of established local music artists, as well as commercials and marketing campaigns. Nebojša Glogovac
Nebojša "Glogi" Glogovac ( sr-Cyrl, Небојша Глоговац; 30 August 19699 February 2018) was a Serbian actor, notable for performances in theater, television actor, television and film actor, film. He was a member of the Children's Drama Group of the Serbian Radio and television, and he began his acting career at the Youth Atelier in Pančevo. In 1996, he received a scholarship from the Yugoslav Drama Theatre, Yugoslav Drama Theater and a role in the play ''The Great Robbery'', directed by Dejan Mijač on the stage of Atelje 212. When he was a child, he appeared in the television show ''Price iz Nepričave (Stories from Nepricava)'' in 1981. Serbia has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film under three different names since the breakup of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s. Despite the name changes, all submitted films since 1994 have been Serbian productions. This is a list of submissions to the 86th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature length, feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English language, English dialogue.
