''Chorizema dicksonii'', commonly known as yellow-eyed flame pea, is a species of flowering plant in the family Fabaceae and is endemic to the southwest of Western Australia. It is an erect or spreading shrub with oblong to lance-shaped leaves and red and orange flowers. Description ''Chorizema dicksonii'' is an erect or spreading shrub that typically grows to a height of . Its leaves are oblong to lance-shaped or almost linear, up to long and rigid, tapering to a sharp point on the end. The flowers are arranged in loose, spike-like racemes on the ends of branches, each flower on a short pedicel. The sepals are silky-hairy, about long, the upper two lobes joined for about half their length. The petals are red and orange, the standard petal nearly twice as long as the sepals, the wings slightly longer than the sepals, and the keel shorter and curved with an erect point on the end. James (Jacobus) J. Dickson (1738–1822) was a Scottish nurseryman, plant collector, botanist and mycologist. The Fabales are an order of flowering plants included in the rosid group of the eudicots in the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group II classification system. The Avon Wheatbelt is a bioregion in Western Australia. It has an area of . It is considered part of the larger Southwest Australia savanna ecoregion. Robert Graham (botanist)
Robert Graham (3 December 1786 – 7 August 1845) was a Scottish physician and botanist. Life Graham was born in Stirling the son of Dr Robert Graham, physician. After studying at Stirling Grammar School he continued first to the University of Glasgow and then to the University of Edinburgh where he graduated around 1806, and completed his MD in 1808. He trained further at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, where he qualified as a surgeon. He then returned to Scotland to practice at Glasgow Royal Infirmary 1812-3 and 1816–19. In 1816 he began lecturing in botany at the University of Glasgow, taking over from Thomas Brown of Lanfine and Waterhaughs following his resignation. He was a major figure in the creation of Glasgow Botanic Gardens, and was the inaugural Chair of Botany at the Glasgow in 1818.
