Cem Özdemir
Cem Özdemir (; ; born 21 December 1965) is a German politician who served as Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (Germany), Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture in the Scholz cabinet, cabinet of Chancellor Olaf Scholz from 2021 to 2025. He is a member of the Alliance 90/The Greens party. Between 2008 and 2018, Özdemir co-chaired the Green Party, together with Claudia Roth and later Simone Peter. He has been a Member of the German Bundestag since 2013, previously holding a seat between 1994 and 2002. From 2004 to 2009, he served as a Member of the European Parliament. Alongside Katrin Göring-Eckardt, he stood as one of the top two Green candidates in the 2017 German federal election, 2017 federal election. Simone Fischer
Simone Fischer (born 24 June 1979) is a German politician from the Alliance 90/The Greens. She has been a member of the German Bundestag since the 2025 German federal election. Life Simone Fischer grew up in the Neckar-Odenwald district. After graduating from high school, she studied public administration at and subsequently held various positions in the social and healthcare sectors of the city of Stuttgart. Since 2021, she has been the Baden-Württemberg State Government’s Commissioner for the Concerns of People with Disabilities. She lives with her partner in the west of Stuttgart. Fischer has dwarfism. The Free Democratic Party (, FDP, ) is a liberalism, liberal political party in Germany. The FDP was founded in 1948 by members of former liberal political parties in Germany before World War II, namely the German Democratic Party and the German People's Party. 2024 German Government Crisis
On 6 November 2024, Olaf Scholz, the incumbent chancellor of Germany, announced the dismissal of Christian Lindner, the then-finance minister and leader of the Free Democratic Party (FDP), from his cabinet. This occurred following disputes in the three-party coalition government over the country's economic policies and tensions within the coalition. In response, the FDP moved into the opposition, and the governing coalition collapsed, leaving a two-party minority government of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and The Greens. On 16 December 2024, Scholz called a vote of confidence in the ruling government, which was lost. The 2017 German federal election was held in Germany on 24 September 2017 to elect the List of members of the 19th Bundestag, members of the 19th Bundestag. Katrin Göring-Eckardt
Katrin Dagmar Göring-Eckardt ( Eckardt; 3 May 1966) is a German politician of the German Green Party (officially known as Alliance 90/The Greens). Starting her political activity in the now-former German Democratic Republic (East Germany) in the late 1980s, she has been a member of the German Bundestag since 1998. She became co-chair of her party caucus in the Bundestag (2002–2005) and the Greens' Vice President of the Bundestag on 18 October 2005, a position that she held until 2013 and would later reprise in 2021. 1994 German Federal Election
The 1994 German federal election was held in Germany on 16 October 1994 to elect the members of the 13th Bundestag. The CDU/CSU alliance led by Helmut Kohl remained the largest faction in parliament, with Kohl remaining Chancellor in a narrowly re-elected coalition with the Free Democratic Party (FDP). This elected Bundestag was the largest in history until 2017, numbering 672 members.
