The Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral ( pt, Sé Catedral de Nossa Senhora da Assunção ) also called Saurimo Cathedral Is the name given to a religious building affiliated with the Catholic Church which is located in the city of Saurimo in the province of Lunda Sul in the northeast of the African country of Angola. The current structure was built between 1958 and 1959 and received official blessing only in 1961 when Angola was still a dependency of Portugal. The cathedral follows the Roman or Latin rite and is the main or mother church of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Saurimo (''Archidioecesis Saurimoënsis'') which was created as a diocese by Pope Paul VI in 1975 and was elevated to its current status in 2011 through the bull "Quandoquidem accepimus "of Pope Benedict XVI. The Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral ( es, Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción) also called Granada Cathedral is a neoclassical Catholic cathedral located in Granada, Nicaragua, southeast of Managua. The church is the main temple of the Diocese of Granada, and its bishop is Jorge Solórzano Pérez. The first cathedral temple was built around 1525 with tapicel and rafaz stone, brick, lime and straw roof. By 1578, the church had already been burned twice. Seven years later, in 1585, it started to become known colloquially as "La Iglesia Bonita," or "The Beautiful Church." The second temple was completed in about 1751 with lime, stone, and brick. In 1916, the iron frame intended for the central dome was brought from the United States, only three years after the Diocese of Granada was created by the Roman Catholic Church.
