Canada's Wonderland
Canada's Wonderland, formerly known as Paramount Canada's Wonderland, is a amusement park located in Vaughan, Ontario, a municipality within the Greater Toronto Area. Opened in 1981 by the Taft Broadcasting, Taft Broadcasting Company and the Great-West Life Assurance Company, it was the first major theme park in Canada and remains the country's largest. Cedar Fair (merged with Six Flags since 1 July 2024) purchased the park from Paramount Parks in 2006, and they have owned and operated the park since then. In 2019, it was the most-visited seasonal amusement park in North America with an estimated 3.9 million guests. The park still retains this record, with an estimated 3.8 million guests in 2022 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaughan ( ) (2022 population 344,412) is a city in Ontario, Canada. It is located in the Regional Municipality of York, just north of Toronto. Halloween Haunt, previously known as "Fearfest", is a Halloween event at Canada's Wonderland located in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. It runs after the park's regular operating hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings in October until the end of October or early November – up to, and recently in the 2019 season, not including Halloween night. It is Canada's largest haunted theme park featuring over 300 monsters, nine walk-through "maze" attractions, six uniquely themed atmospheric scare areas, and three live shows. Marineland Of Canada
Marineland (official name Marineland of Canada Inc.) was a themed zoo and amusement park in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada that operated from 1961 until 2024. It was founded and operated by John Holer, a Slovenian immigrant, from 1961 until his death in 2018. He started with one tank and built the operation into a major attraction and employer. The park had performing marine animal shows, exhibits of marine and land animals, and amusement rides. The marine mammals included dolphins, sea lions, and beluga whales. Until 2023, the park also kept walruses and orcas. The park also kept bears, deer and other land animals. After Holer's death, it was operated by his widow until her death in 2024, under public pressure to discontinue its marine exhibits. In 2024, it discontinued public viewing of its land animals. Time Warp (roller Coaster)
Time Warp, formerly known as Tomb Raider: The Ride, was a flying roller coaster located at Canada's Wonderland. Manufactured by Zamperla, the ride opened to the public on 2 May 2004. Following Cedar Fair's (merged with Six Flags in July 2024 under the Six Flags name) removal of themes based on Paramount IP from its parks, including Kings Island and Kings Dominion, Time Warp became the last attraction at a Six Flags park to be themed to the ''Tomb Raider'' franchise. Freestyle (roller Coaster)
Freestyle is a stand-up roller coaster operating at Cavallino Matto in Tuscany, Italy. It opened as the park's fifth roller coaster on July 18, 2015. Freestyle originally opened at Canada's Wonderland in 1985 as SkyRider and closed in 2014. Built by TOGO, it was the second stand-up roller coaster from the company following the now-defunct King Cobra (roller coaster), King Cobra, which opened the previous year at Kings Island. On August 6, 2014, Canada's Wonderland announced that the ride would close permanently on September 1, 2014. The coaster accommodated nearly 23 million guests during its lifespan. In the Fall of 2014, SkyRider was sold, dismantled and relocated overseas to Cavallino Matto. It was reassembled and opened in 2015 as Freestyle.
