Floride Bonneau Calhoun (née Colhoun; February 15, 1792 – July 25, 1866) was the wife of U.S. politician John C. Calhoun. She was known for her leading role in the Petticoat affair, which occurred during her husband's service as vice president of the United States. In that role, Mrs. Calhoun led the wives of other Cabinet members in ostracizing Peggy Eaton, the wife of Secretary of War John Eaton, whom they considered a woman of low morals. The affair helped damage relations between John C. Calhoun and President Andrew Jackson, and effectively ended any legitimate chance of John Calhoun becoming president of the United States. George Whitney Calhoun (September 16, 1890 – December 6, 1963) was an American newspaper editor and co-founder of the Green Bay Packers, a professional American football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. After establishing the Packers in 1919 with Curly Lambeau, Calhoun served the team in various capacities for 44 years until his death in 1963. Utilizing his editorial job at the ''Green Bay Press-Gazette'', he became the team's first publicity director, helping to establish local support and interest. He also served as the first team manager and was a member of the board of directors of the non-profit corporation that owns the team. Donald Clevester Calhoun (April 29, 1952 – December 14, 2020) was an American professional football running back who played for nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots. and Philadelphia Eagles. William Lowndes Calhoun (November 23, 1837November 16, 1908) was an American attorney and politician from the state of Georgia who served as the 26th Mayor of Atlanta. A member of the Democratic Party, Calhoun is the first in a string of Democrat mayors that lasts to the present day. Biography Calhoun was born in Decatur, Georgia, son of fellow Atlanta mayor James Calhoun.
