Drill Bit
A drill bit is a cutting tool used in a drill to remove material to create holes, almost always of circular cross-section. Drill bits come in many sizes and shapes and can create different kinds of holes in many different materials. In order to create holes drill bits are usually attached to a drill, which powers them to cut through the workpiece, typically by rotation. The drill will grasp the upper end of a bit called the ''shank'' in the chuck. Drills come in standardized drill bit sizes. A comprehensive drill bit and tap size chart lists metric and imperial sized drills alongside the required screw tap sizes. There are also certain specialized drill bits that can create holes with a non-circular cross-section. Characteristics Drill geometry has several characteristics: * The spiral (or rate of twist) in the drill bit controls the rate of chip removal. A fast spiral (high twist rate or "compact flute") drill bit is used in high feed rate applications under low ...

Background Intelligent Transfer Service
Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) is a component of Microsoft Windows XP and later iterations of the operating systems, which facilitates asynchronous, prioritized, and throttled transfer of files between machines using idle network bandwidth. It is most commonly used by recent versions of Windows Update, Microsoft Update, Windows Server Update Services, and System Center Configuration Manager to deliver software updates to clients, Microsoft's anti-virus scanner Microsoft Security Essentials (a later version of Windows Defender) to fetch signature updates, and is also used by Microsoft's instant messaging products to transfer files. BITS is exposed through the Component Object Model (COM) and the UWP APWindows.Networking.BackgroundTransfer Technology BITS uses idle bandwidth to transfer data. Normally, BITS transfers data in the background, i.e., BITS will only transfer data whenever there is bandwidth which is not being used by other applications. BITS also s ...

Built-in Test
A built-in self-test (BIST) or built-in test (BIT) is a mechanism that permits a machine to test itself. Engineers design BISTs to meet requirements such as: *high Reliability engineering, reliability *lower Repair cycle, repair cycle times or constraints such as: *limited technician accessibility *cost of testing during manufacture The main purpose of BIST is to reduce the complexity, and thereby decrease the cost and reduce reliance upon external (pattern-programmed) test equipment. BIST reduces cost in two ways: # reduces test-cycle duration # reduces the complexity of the test/probe setup, by reducing the number of I/O signals that must be driven/examined under tester control. Both lead to a reduction in hourly charges for automated test equipment (ATE) service. Applications BIST is commonly placed in weapons, avionics, medical devices, automobile, automotive electronics, complex machinery of all types, unattended machinery of all types, and integrated circuits. Institute Of Technology
An institute of technology (also referred to as technological university, technical university, university of technology, polytechnic university) is an institution of tertiary education that specializes in engineering, technology, applied science, and natural sciences. Institutes of technology versus polytechnics The institutes of technology and polytechnics have been in existence since at least the 18th century, but became popular after World War II with the expansion of engineering and applied science education, associated with the new needs created by industrialization. The world's first institution of technology, the Berg-Schola (today its legal successor is the University of Miskolc), was founded by the Court Chamber of Vienna in Selmecbánya, Kingdom of Hungary (now Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia), in 1735 in order to train specialists of precious metal and copper mining according to the requirements of the industrial revolution in Hungary. The oldest German Institute of Techn ...

American Council Of The Blind
The American Council of the Blind (ACB) is a nationwide organization in the United States. It is an organization mainly made up of blind and visually impaired people who want to achieve independence and equality (although there are many sighted members with common aims). History The American Council of the Blind was formed out of the dissolution of the Braille Free Press Association in 1961. Braille Free Press had been set up in 1959. It was highly critical of the American Foundation for the Blind, and the ACB was formed as an alternative to it. The ACB was also very critical of the National Federation of the Blind which many of its first members had also originally belonged to. Relations between the two organizations have been strained ever since—to the extent that they tend to schedule their conventions at the same time, to deter people from being active in both organizations. In 2013 the ACB elected Kim Charlson as its first female president, making her the first female ...

Bukareshter Idishe Teater-Studie
The Bucharest Yiddish Studio Theater (Yiddish: ''Bukareshter Idishe Teater-Studie'', ''BITS'') was a short-lived, experimental Yiddish theater founded in Bucharest, Romania in 1930, under the leadership of Jacob Sternberg. Their first production, in January 1930, was I.L. Peretz's ''A Night in the Old Town'', also known as ''A Night in the Old Marketplace'' — that is to say, in the Jewish ghetto. ''Dimineaţa'' said of this play that it "does not have a subject in the conventional sense of the word" but is instead "the dream of a cold night", moving smoothly between the world of the living and that of the dead. The play was a hit and a critical success. Tudor Arghezi, who did not speak Yiddish, praised Sternberg highly for the production, and for the structure of the performance, whose blend of "order and disorder" he described as "inexplicable, like Beethoven's music". Arghezi also remarked of ''A Night in the Old Town'', "you are either open to this, or you are not". Many ...

Tricicle
Tricicle () is a physical-comedy group composed of three actors: Joan Gràcia, Francesc (Paco) Mir, and Carles Sans. They founded the company in 1979 to perform brief sketches in streets and alternative venues. At that time, the three members of Tricicle were students at Barcelona's Institut del Teatre, specializing in pantomime and dramatic arts. In 1982, after several seasons of performances in alternative settings, they made their professional circuit debut at the Sala Villarroel in Barcelona. Their show consisted of a compilation of various sketches they had created during their time at the so-called cafés-teatro ( bars and cafés offering live performances). The show, titled ''Manicomic'', achieved both critical and commercial success, winning a prize at the Sitges International Theater Festival that same year. History In 1982, they performed their first professional engagement, a premiere of their first production, ''Manicomic'', at the Barcelona Theatre "Villarr ...
