Batman Characters
The Batman supporting characters are fictional characters that appear in the American comic books published by DC Comics featuring the superhero Batman as the main protagonist. "Batman family" or "Bat-Family" is the informal term for Batman's closest allies, who are mainly masked vigilantes operating in Gotham City. Since the Bat-Family's introduction in 1939, Batman has accumulated a number of recognized supporting characters. The first Batman supporting character was Commissioner James "Jim" Gordon, Batman's ally in the Gotham City Police Department, who first appeared with Batman in ''Detective Comics'' #27 (May 1939). Some of the other allies of Batman include his vigilante partner, Robin, who was introduced in 1940; his butler, Alfred Pennyworth, who was introduced in 1943; and Barbara Gordon, who was introduced in 1967. Poison Ivy (character)
Poison Ivy is a character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Robert Kanigher and artist Carmine Infantino, she debuted in ''Batman (comic book), Batman'' #181 (June 1966) and has become one of the superhero Batman's most enduring enemies belonging to the collective of adversaries that make up his List of Batman Family adversaries#Classic rogues gallery, rogues gallery. In her comic book appearances, Poison Ivy is depicted as a doctor of botany-turned-Misanthropy, misanthropic Eco-terrorism, ecoterrorist in Gotham City named Pamela Lillian Isley, PhD ( ) with the ability to control all plant life. Outsiders (comics)
The Outsiders are a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. As their name suggests, the team consists of superheroes who do not fit the norms of the "mainstream" superhero community, i.e. the Justice League. The Outsiders have had a number of different incarnations. They were founded by Batman, whose ties to the Justice League were strained at the time, and introduced the original line-up of Batman, Black Lightning, Metamorpho, Geo-Force, Katana (DC Comics), Katana, Halo (DC Comics), Halo and Looker (character), Looker. A later incarnation of the Outsiders from the early 2000s comics was led by Dick Grayson, Nightwing and Roy Harper (character), Arsenal following the dissolution of the Teen Titans superhero group, and depicted the team as a group hunting for super-criminals.
