Absheron District
Absheron District () is one of the 66 Administrative divisions of Azerbaijan, districts of Azerbaijan. Located in the east of the country, it belongs to the Absheron-Khizi Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Khizi District, Khizi, Gobustan District, Gobustan, Baku, Hajigabul District, Hajigabul, Salyan District (Azerbaijan), Salyan, and the city of Sumgait. Its capital and largest city is Xırdalan, Khyrdalan. As of 2020, the district had a population of 214,100. Although the district shares the same name as the Absheron Peninsula, the area covered by the district is not conterminous, being further west and mostly inland. Sumgait
Sumqayit (or Sumgait; ; , ) is a city in Azerbaijan, located near the Caspian Sea, on the Absheron Peninsula, about away from the capital Baku. The city had a population of 427,000 at the beginning of 2024, making it the List of cities in Azerbaijan, second largest city in Azerbaijan after Baku. The city has a territory of . It was founded as a suburb of Baku in 1944 and received city status on 22 November 1949, growing into a major industrial center during the Soviet period. The municipality of Sumgait also includes the settlements of Corat, Jorat and Hacı Zeynalabdin, Haji Zeynalabdin. It is home to Sumqayit State University. Sheep Farming
Sheep farming or sheep husbandry is the raising and breeding of domestic sheep. It is a branch of animal husbandry. Olive
The olive, botanical name ''Olea europaea'' ("European olive"), is a species of Subtropics, subtropical evergreen tree in the Family (biology), family Oleaceae. The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan Republic () is a governmental agency within the Cabinet of Azerbaijan in charge of collection, processing and disseminating statistical data on the economy, demographics and other sectors of activity in Azerbaijan Republic. The agency is headed by Arif Valiyev. History The first statistics offices were founded in Azerbaijan, after it was incorporated into the Russian Empire, initially created and operated in Shamakhi from 1846 through 1859, in Baku from 1859 and in Ganja from 1867.
