2019 Overwatch League Season
The 2019 Overwatch League season was the second season of the Overwatch League (OWL), an esport based on the video game ''Overwatch''. The league expanded from 12 teams from the inaugural season to 20 teams. Of the eight new teams, two were from the United States, two were from Canada, one was from France, and three were from China. The season began on February 14, 2019, and ended on August 25. Postseason play began in late August. The San Francisco Shock won the Grand Finals over the Vancouver Titans to become the league champions. Overwatch League
The Overwatch League (OWL) was a professional esports league for the video game ''Overwatch'', produced by its developer, Blizzard Entertainment. From 2018 to 2023, the Overwatch League followed the model of other traditional North American professional sporting leagues by using a set of permanent, city-based teams backed by separate ownership groups. ''Kotaku'' is a video game website and blog that was originally launched in 2004 as part of the Gawker Media network. Notable former contributors to the site include Luke Smith, Cecilia D'Anastasio, Tim Rogers, and Jason Schreier. Kit Kat (stylised as KitKat in various countries) is a chocolate-covered wafer bar Confectionery, confection created by Rowntree's of York, England. It is produced globally by Nestlé (which acquired Rowntree's in 1988), except in the United States, where it is made under licence by the H. B. Reese, H. B. The Atlanta Reign were an American professional Overwatch (video game)#Esports, ''Overwatch'' esports team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The team competed in the Overwatch League (OWL) as a member of the league's West region. Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is a performing arts venue located in the Cumberland/Galleria edge city, in northwest Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Dallas Fuel was an American professional ''Overwatch'' team based in Dallas, Texas. The Fuel competed in the Overwatch League (OWL) as a member of the league's East region. The team disbanded before the folding of the Overwatch League on September 30, 2023. Founded in 2017, Dallas Fuel was one of the league's twelve founding teams and was one of two professional Overwatch teams based in Texas (the other, Houston Outlaws). The Credit Union of Texas Event Center (formerly Allen Event Center) is an American 6,275 fixed-seat multi-purpose indoor arena located in Allen, Texas, a northern suburb of Dallas.
