Carl XVI Gustaf
Carl XVI Gustaf (Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus; born 30 April 1946) is King of Sweden. Having reigned since 1973, he is the longest-reigning monarch in Swedish history. Carl Gustaf was born during the reign of his paternal great-grandfather, King Gustaf V, as the youngest child and only son of Prince Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten, and Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The prime minister of Sweden (, "minister of state") is the head of government of the Sweden, Kingdom of Sweden. The prime minister and their cabinet (the government) exercise executive authority in the Kingdom of Sweden and are subject to the Parliament of Sweden. Fredrik Reinfeldt
John Fredrik Reinfeldt (pronounced ; born 4 August 1965) is a Swedish economist, lecturer, former Prime Minister of Sweden from 2006 to 2014 and chairman of the liberal conservative Moderate Party from 2003 to 2015. He was the last rotating President of the European Council in 2009. He was the chairman of the Swedish Football Association between 2023 and 2025. A native of Stockholm County, Reinfeldt joined the Moderate Youth League in 1983. By 1992 he rose to the rank of chairman, a position he held until 1995. He served as Parliament of Sweden, Member of Parliament from 1991 to 2014, representing his home constituency. Reinfeldt was elected party leader on 25 October 2003, succeeding Bo Lundgren. Stig Claesson
John Stig Claesson (2 June 1928 – 4 January 2008), also known under his signature Slas, was a Swedish writer, visual artist, and illustrator. Claesson was born on 2 June 1928 in Huddinge, south of Stockholm. He attended the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts between 1947 and 1952, during which time he began to illustrate Swedish literature such as the novels of Per Anders Fogelström. Claesson is the father of actor Leif Claesson. His son, artist Nils Claesson, published a revealing portrait of his father in the book ''Blåbärsmaskinen'' (The Blueberry Machine, 2009) which was much discussed in Sweden on its publication. Stig Claesson died on 4 January 2008 in Stockholm. Career Claesson debuted in his writing career in 1956, when he was 28 years of age. During his career Claesson published more than 80 books. Tommy Limby (5 September 1947, Gåxsjö, Jämtland – 14 January 2008) was a Swedish cross-country skier who competed in the 1970s. He earned a gold medal in the 4 × 10 km relay at the 1978 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti. In 1974 he participated in the Orsa IF men's team winning the Swedish national relay championship. Limby finished third in the Vasaloppet (Swedish language, Swedish for 'the Vasa race') is an annual long distance cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country ski race held on the first Sunday of March. Folke Eriksson
Anders Folke Eriksson (27 April 1925 – 12 March 2008) was a Swedish water polo player who competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics. In 1948 he was a member of the Swedish team which finished fifth in the water polo tournament. He played four matches. At club level, Eriksson represented Västerås SS. Ola Brunkert
Ola Brunkert (15 September 1946 – 16 March 2008) was a Swedish drummer who was one of the main session drummers for the pop group ABBA. Brunkert and bassist Rutger Gunnarsson are the only two side musicians to appear on every ABBA album prior to '' Voyage'' (2021). Born in Örebro, Sweden, Brunkert began playing the drums in 1958 and cited jazz drummer Gene Krupa as a significant early influence. He played with Slim's Blues Gang, before joining the pop group Science Poption. He then formed the jazz-rock combo with the guitarist Janne Schaffer, and by 1970 had become one of the most sought-after session drummers in Stockholm. He was not among the four members of ABBA whose faces adorned the album covers, but was a key supporting musician for the group as it achieved stardom. Brunkert played on the group's first single " People Need Love", their Eurovision hit " Waterloo", and consistently on a great many of their recordings throughout the 1970s.
