The Bálványos Free Summer University and Student Camp ( hu, Bálványosi Nyári Szabadegyetem és Diáktábor; ro, Universitatea de Vară și Tabăra Studențească „Bálványos”; commonly known as the Tusványos Festival or just Tusványos) is a large-scale intellectual workshop of the Carpathian Basin held annually in Băile Tușnad, Romania ( hu, Tusnádfürdő). It was originally intended to promote cross-border co-operation, Romanian-Hungarian dialogue and cultural Hungarian- Hungarian political exchange. Besides the political and public themes, there is also the opportunity to relax and have fun and to participate in sporting and cultural events or visit concerts of Hungarian and Transylvanian Hungarian ensembles. Băile Tușnad
Băile Tușnad (; hu, Tusnádfürdő, ) is a town in Harghita County, Romania in eastern Transylvania. With a population of 1,617, it is the smallest town in Romania by population. It is located at an altitude of 650 metres in the southern reaches of the Ciuc depression, between the Harghita and Bodoc mountains, in the valley of the Olt, and is to this day an important spa town. Fidesz – Hungarian Civic Alliance (; hu, Fidesz – Magyar Polgári Szövetség) is a right-wing populist and national-conservative political party in Hungary, led by Viktor Orbán. It was formed in 1988 under the name of Alliance of Young Democrats () as a centre-left and liberal activist movement that opposed the ruling Marxist–Leninist government. Adrian Severin (born 28 March 1954) is a Romanian politician and former Member of the European Parliament. Adrian Severin started his politics career under the Communist rule, as Instructor (''lector'') at Ștefan Gheorghiu Academy, the university for Romanian Communist cadres. After the regime change, he became a member of the National Salvation Front and the Democratic Party (which he left in April 1999). Severin was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania between 12 December 1996 and 29 December 1997 as part of the Victor Ciorbea cabinet. Traian Băsescu (; born 4 November 1951) is a conservative Romanian politician who served as President of Romania from 2004 to 2014. Prior to his presidency, Băsescu served as Romanian Minister of Transport on multiple occasions between 1991 and 2000, and as Mayor of Bucharest from 2000 to 2004.
