Buckinghamshire Women Cricket Team
The Buckinghamshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Buckinghamshire. They play their home games across the county, and are captained by Izzy Gurney. They consistently played in the bottom tier of the Women's County Championship until the competition ended, and they now play only in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. They are partnered with the regional side Southern Vipers. History 1936-2008: Early History The first recorded match involving Buckinghamshire Women took place in 1936, in which they beat Berkshire Women by 66 runs. Campbell Park Cricket Ground
Campbell Park is a cricket ground in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, located in Campbell Park. The first recorded match on the ground in 1981, when the Northamptonshire Second XI played the Leicestershire Second XI in the Second Eleven Championship. The first List-A match held on the ground came in 1997 when Northamptonshire played Nottinghamshire in AXA Life League. In 1999, the ground hosted a List-A match between New Zealand A and Sri Lanka A. , the most recent List-A match held on the ground came in 2004 when Northamptonshire played Hampshire in the Totesport League. 2014 Women's Twenty20 Cup
The 2014 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2014 NatWest Women's Twenty20 Cup, was the 6th cricket Women's Twenty20 Cup tournament. It took place in July and August, with 40 teams taking part: 36 county teams, alongside Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Netherlands. Nottinghamshire Women won the Twenty20 Cup, achieving their first title. The tournament ran alongside the 50-over 2014 Women's County Championship. North East Warriors
North East Warriors is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic counties of County Durham and Northumberland. They play their home matches at grounds across the two counties, including Stocksfield Cricket Club Ground, Stocksfield and Manor Road, Willington. They are captained by Laura Ellison. The team was formed ahead of the 2020 season, with Durham and Northumberland deciding to merge at both youth and senior levels in order to provide a "united high performance pathway" for the region. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they did not take part in any formal competitions in 2020, only playing friendlies, but went on to compete in the Women's Twenty20 Cup from 2021 onwards. The Cambridgeshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Cambridgeshire. They play their home games across the county, and are captained by Lara Neild. In the Women's County Championship, Cambridgeshire played as a combined team with Huntingdonshire, as Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Women, but since 2014 they have played individually in the Women's Twenty20 Cup, in which they have consistently competed in the lowest tier. The Worcestershire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Worcestershire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Chester Road, Kidderminster and Stourbridge Road, Himley. They are captained by Chloe Hill. In 2019, they played in Division Two of the final season of the Women's County Championship, and have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. Chloe Anne Elizabeth Hill (born 3 January 1997) is an English cricketer who currently captains Worcestershire, as well as playing for South East Stars and London Spirit. She plays as a wicket-keeper and right-handed batter. She has previously played for Buckinghamshire, Central Sparks and Southern Vipers. South Central Counties Cup
The South Central Counties Cup is a domestic women's one-day cricket competition in England. Organised by the Southern Vipers regional team for the six counties that make up the team's region in the South of England, its first edition took place in 2022. Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Sussex are the six teams that take part in the competition. Following the end of the Women's County Championship in 2019 and the launching of the new regional structure for domestic women's cricket in England in 2020, county sides were left without any 50-over cricket. The 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2022 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 13th edition of the Women's Twenty20 Cup, an English women's cricket Twenty20 domestic competition. It took place in April and May 2022, with 35 teams taking part, organised into eight regional groups. There was no overall winner, with Lancashire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Suffolk, Leicestershire and Rutland, Sussex, Middlesex and Devon winning their individual groups. There was no overall winner, with Hertfordshire, Nottinghamshire, Lancashire, Kent, Gloucestershire and Somerset winning their respective regions. The East of England Women's County Championship is a domestic women's one-day cricket competition in England. The tournament began in 2020, with the aim of providing longer-format cricket in the East of England region after reforms to the structure of domestic women's cricket in England. The tournament currently sees six teams competing in a 45-over competition. History The East of England Women's County Championship was originally conceived in 2020 as a 50-over competition to provide longer-format cricket in the region after the abolition of the Women's County Championship.
