Brother's Keeper (band)
Brother's Keeper was an American metalcore band from Erie, Pennsylvania. History Formed in 1994 by members of a number of other local bands, Brother's Keeper became the backbone of the Erie hardcore punk and metalcore scene. Alongside bands like xDISCIPLEx A.D., Digression and Neverfall, they created a local community of youth bonded by a common musical interest. Brother's Keeper's sound stood out due to the unique vocal style of Mike Ski. The band released five CDs as well as a number of 7" records. Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Trustkill Records
Trustkill Records was an American independent record label that started as a hardcore punk fanzine in April 1993. It started releasing hardcore, metal and rock records and merchandise in 1994. In 2010, the president of Trustkill, Josh Grabelle, formed a new label called Bullet Tooth Records. Distribution On January 9, 2007, Trustkill signed a deal for exclusive distribution in North America with Fontana Distribution, which is under the Universal Music Group umbrella. Trustkill is also distributed by SPV (Europe), Shock (Australia), JVC/Howling Bull (Japan), David Gresham (South Africa), and Liberation (Brazil). In 2009, independent hardcore label Think Fast! XDISCIPLEx A
xDISCIPLEx A.D. (or xdisciplex a.d.) was a straight edge Christian hardcore band from Erie, Pennsylvania. Formerly xdisciplex or disciple, the band had to change its name in November 2000 to avoid legal actions due to the already-established Christian metal band Disciple. They released albums with Goodfellow Records, Triple Crown Records and Facedown Records. The band often played in Ontario, Canada, due to its connections with the Buffalo/Hamilton hardcore scene and Goodfellow Records/Redstar Records. In March 2000, Good Life Recordings announced a long-delayed split 7" vinyl between Disciple and melodic hardcore band As Friends Rust.
