Regional Municipality Of Peel, Ontario
The Regional Municipality of Peel (informally Peel Region or Region of Peel, also formerly Peel County) is a regional municipality in the Greater Toronto Area, Southern Ontario, Canada. It consists of three municipalities to the west and northwest of the city of Toronto: the cities of Mississauga and Brampton, and the town of Caledon, each of which spans its full east–west width. The regional seat is in Brampton. The entire Greater Toronto Area is the inner ring of the Golden Horseshoe. Brampton West (french: Brampton-Ouest) is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2004. Its population was 170,422 in 2006- making it the most populous riding in Canada. The district includes the western part of the city of Brampton excluding the neighbourhood of Madoc. The electoral district was created in 2003: 72.8% of the population of the riding came from Brampton West—Mississauga, and 27.2% from Brampton Centre. As a result of the 2012 electoral redistribution, this riding lost just over half of its territory, mostly to Brampton South, with portions going to Brampton North. 2007 Ontario General Election
The 2007 Ontario general election was held on October 10, 2007, to elect members ( MPPs) of the 39th Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, Canada. The Liberals under Premier Dalton McGuinty won the election with a majority government, winning 71 out of a possible 107 seats with 42.2% of the popular vote. The election saw the third-lowest voter turnout in Ontario provincial elections, setting a then record for the lowest voter turnout with 52.8% of people who were eligible voted. This broke the previous record of 54.7% in the 1923 election, but would end up being surpassed in the 2011 and 2022 elections. Hurontario Street is a roadway running in Ontario, Canada between Lake Ontario at Mississauga and Lake Huron's Georgian Bay at Collingwood. Within Peel Region, it is a major urban thoroughfare within the cities of Mississauga and Brampton, which serves as the divide from which cross-streets are split into ''East'' and ''West'', except at its foot in the historic Mississauga neighbourhood of Port Credit. Amarjot Sandhu MPP (Punjabi: ਅਮਰਜੋਤ ਸੰਧੂ) is a Canadian politician. He is a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario who was elected in 2018 who represents the riding of Brampton West. Amarjot Sandhu was born in Punjab, India.
