Brahmachari (Telugu Film)
''Brahmachari'' () is a 1968 Indian Telugu-language comedy drama film, produced by A. V. Subba Rao under the Prasad Art Productions banner and directed by T. Rama Rao. The film stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Jayalalithaa, with music composed by T. Chalapathi Rao. It was released on 1 February 1968. The film was remade in Hindi as ''Ek Nari Ek Brahmachari'' (1971). Plot The film begins with Ramakrishna a devout worshiper of Lord Hanuman and vows celibacy. Vasantha his colleague endears his nobleness. Raisahib Parandhamaiah his father a domineering paterfamilias is distressed by Ramakrishna. Once the college visits a picnic where unintentionally Ramakrishna misplaces Vasantha's locket. So, as regret, he bestows his locket when his naughty friend takes a photograph and also writes a love letter to Vasantha forging Ramakrishna's signature. Akkineni Nageswara Rao
Akkineni Nageswara Rao (20 September 1923 – 22 January 2014), widely known as ANR, was an Indian actor and producer, known for his works majorly in Telugu cinema. He starred in many landmark films in his seventy five-year career, and became one of the most prominent figures of Telugu cinema. Nageswara Rao received seven state Nandi Awards, and five Filmfare Awards South. He is a recipient of the Dada Saheb Phalke Award and Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian award, for his contributions to the fields of Art and Cinema. Potti Prasad
Potti Prasad (born Kavivarapu Prasada Rao) was an Indian actor who predominantly worked in Telugu cinema. He was introduced to the films by Jandhyala. His notable roles include Chantabbai and Sagara Sangamam. He made his screen debut with Appu Chesi Pappu Koodu in a brief role as one of the two (the other being Padmanabham) prospective bridegrooms for Girija. He was bowled over by the magnanimity of Nagi Reddi and Chakrapani when he was paid Rs.1116/- for that one scene work. He was a friend of another comedian Raja Babu. Kosaraju Raghavayya (23 June 1905 – 27 October 1987), known mononumously by his surname Kosaraju, was an Indian lyricist and poet known for his works in Telugu cinema. He wrote about 3,000 songs in 350 films. His lyrics are steeped in Telugu folklore and rural idiom. Ghantasala Venkateswararao (4 December 1922 – 11 February 1974), known mononymously by his surname as Ghantasala, was an Indian playback singer and film composer known for his works predominantly in Telugu and Kannada cinema and also in Tamil, Malayalam, Tulu and Hindi language films. He is considered as one of the greatest singers of Telugu cinema. In 1970, he received the Padma Shri award, India's fourth highest civilian award for his contribution to Indian cinema. Suryakantham (28 October 1924 – 18 December 1994) was an Indian actress in Tollywood. She was popular for playing the role of a cruel mother-in-law in most of her movies. Early life Suryakantham was born and brought up in a Telugu Brahmin family residing at Venkata Krishnaraya Puram near Kakinada of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. She was the 14th child to her parents, ten of whose children had died. She learnt dance and singing at the age of six. She married Peddibhotla Chalapati Rao, a High Court Judge, in 1950.
