Boxing At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's Welterweight
The men's welterweight boxing competition at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held between 31 July and 12 August at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. Twenty-eight boxers from 28 nations competed. Competition format The competition consisted of a single-elimination tournament. Bronze medals were awarded to both semifinal losers. Bouts were three rounds of three minutes each. Alexis Vastine
Alexis Vastine (17 November 1986 – 9 March 2015) was a French boxer who won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the Light Welterweight division. He also competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics, where he was eliminated in the quarterfinals in a controversial decision. Adam Nolan (born 11 March 1987) is an Irish retired boxer from Enniscorthy, County Wexford who qualified for the 2012 Olympics. Boxing career Adam is the second Wexford-born boxer to qualify for the Olympics, the first being his coach on the Irish team, Billy Walsh. Myke Michel de Carvalho (born October 28, 1983 in Belém do Pará) is a Brazilian retired amateur boxer, best known for his participation in the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics and for winning bronze medals at the Panamerican Games in 2007 and 2011. Egidijus Kavaliauskas (born June 29, 1988) is a Lithuanian professional boxer who challenged for the WBO welterweight title in 2019.
