Boite (river)
The Boite (Cadorino dialect, Guóite) is a river of the Province of Belluno, Veneto region, northern Italy. Passing through the town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, it joins the Piave at Perarolo di Cadore. The principal valley, that of the Piave, runs parallel to the mountain chain which separates the province of Belluno from the basin of the Adige. The secondary valleys, which complete the river basin, are, in descending order and on the right bank, those of Visdende, Comelico Superiore, Auronzo, Boite and Zoldo, traversed, respectively, by the Silvella, or first branch of the Piave, the Padola, Ansiei, Boite, and Mae, which all flow into the main river in a rectangular direction. Geography The Boite, a tributary of the Piave, flows through the Dolomites in a north–south direction, passing through the Valle del Boite and town of Cortina d'Ampezzo. Pierrier à Boîte
A ''Pierrier à boîte'' was an early type of small wrought iron cannon developed in the early 15th century, and a type of breech-loading swivel gun. It was part of the artillery of France in the Middle Ages, and the Cannon in the Middle Ages, artillery of the Middle Ages in general. Perrier is the historical term in English for such weapons, literally a stone thrower. The pierrier was a breech-loading weapon, using a powder chamber similar to a beer mug for loading of individual shots, without having to load from the front or lose time ramming charges in. The pierrier allowed for extremely fast loading and firing, as it expended charges prepared in advance. On the downside, it leaked easily, leading to loss of power and safety issues for the gunners. The pierrier was often used with a swivel. It was a weapon of choice on warships for intense and close encounters. It remained in use until the 19th century. La Boite Theatre is an Australian theatre company based in Brisbane, Queensland. La Boite was established in 1925 and is Australia’s longest continuously running theatre company. Playing a vital role in the cultural landscape, La Boite Theatre occupies the space between independent theatre and the state company. La Boite is based at Brisbane's Roundhouse Theatre, Australia's first purpose-built theatre-in-the-round. Located in the Kelvin Grove, Queensland. It seats 400, or 340 in thrust staging. ''Boîte à Bonbons'' (''Box of Candies'') is a 16-CD box set compilation of the recorded songs of Jacques Brel. The limited edition box set was released to mark the 25th anniversary of Jacques Brel's death. The box set includes 15 albums remastered from the original records. CD digipacks are presented in their original sleeve with lyrics. The box set also includes an illustrated booklet with various pictures, a biography, and Brel's citations and testimonies. Also included are five never before released songs from the recording sessions of the album '' Les Marquises''. Included with the booklet is a bonus CD containing 28 titles: 26 songs from Radio Hasselt recorded 14 and 21 August 1953, a recording from the Brel family's private collection, and a 1962 recording from the Dutch television show AVRO.
