Badminton At The 2010 Commonwealth Games – Mixed Team
The mixed team event of badminton at the 2010 Commonwealth Games was held from 4 to 8 October 2010 in Siri Fort Sports Complex, New Delhi, India where 20 teams competed in the competition. Defending champions, Malaysia, won the gold medal for the second time in a row. They repeated this victory four years later at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. Anthony Clark (badminton)
Anthony Ian Clark (born 1 November 1977) is an English former badminton player. He is a mixed and men's doubles silver medalists at the 2006 World Championships. Clark won the mixed doubles title at the 2008 European Championships, and was part of the England winning team at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Career 2004 Summer Olympics Clark competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's doubles with partner Nathan Robertson. Sanave Thomas Arattukulam (born 21 May 1980) is an Indian badminton player. He won bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in mixed team event. Tan Boon Heong
Tan Boon Heong (, born 18 September 1987) is a former World No.1 Malaysian professional badminton player in the men's doubles event. Career 2004-2006 Tan was previously paired with Hoon Thien How, with whom he won the World Junior Championships in 2004 and a silver medal at the 2006 Asian Badminton Championships. 2006 Nearing the Doha Asian Games in 2006, Rexy Mainaky (the Malaysian doubles coach) decided to split them up and partner Tan Boon Heong with Koo Kien Keat instead. Saina Nehwal
Saina Nehwal (; born 17 March 1990) is an Indian professional badminton player. A former world no. 1, she has won 24 international titles, which includes ten Superseries titles. Although she reached the world's 2nd in 2009, it was only in 2015 that she was able to attain the world no. 1 ranking, thereby becoming the only female player from India and overall the second Indian player – after Prakash Padukone – to achieve this feat. Datin Wong Mew Choo (born 1 May 1983) is a Malaysian former badminton singles player. She was known for her exceptional stamina and endurance. Without any significant attacking weapons, she initially built her game on her ability to endure long rallies, sending the shuttle continually back against more powerful players. These tactics served her well, but put a lot of pressure on her knees and ankles. She suffered from various long term injuries during her playing career. Parupalli Kashyap
Parupalli Kashyap (born 8 September 1986) is an Indian badminton player. A former World No.6, he trains at Gopichand Badminton Academy. He was awarded the Arjuna Award by the Government of India in 2012. He created history by reaching the quarter-finals of men's singles at the 2012 London Olympics, being the first male player from India to do so. Datuk Lee Chong Wei (; born 21 October 1982) is a Malaysian former badminton player. Chin Eei Hui
Chin Eei Hui (; Hakka Pha̍k-fa-sṳ: Chhìn Ngì-fui; born 18 June 1982) is a former badminton player from Malaysia who plays in both women's and mixed doubles. She worked as a coach for Malaysia's national women's doubles players of which the contract ended in 2020. Starting from 2021 until now, she partners with Li-Ning and work with independent players such as Tan Kian Meng, Lai Pei Jing, Teo Ee Yi and Ong Yew Sin.
