Bugs Bunny's Christmas Carol
''Bugs Bunny's Christmas Carol'' is an eight-minute animated short film produced by Warner Bros. Television and DePatie–Freleng Enterprises and released in 1979 by Warner Bros. as part of the Christmas special, '' Bugs Bunny's Looney Christmas Tales''. The cartoon is an adaptation of the Charles Dickens 1843 classic novella ''A Christmas Carol'', featuring Yosemite Sam as Ebenezer Scrooge and Porky Pig as Bob Cratchit. Bugs Bunny plays Jacob Marley and Fred. Scrooge's dream-journey into his past, present, and future is omitted; instead, Bugs dresses up as a white-robed emissary of Hades to scare Scrooge straight. John Dunn (animator)
John W. Dunn (25 February 1919 – 17 January 1983) was a Scottish screenwriter and animator for animated cartoons, active from 1955 to 1983. Biography Dunn began his career at the artists Fleischer Studios Walt Disney cartoon studio, where his first story credit—'' Man in Space''—received an Oscar nomination. He moved to Warner Bros. Cartoons in 1960; there, he began with '' The Pied Piper of Guadalupe'', which was also nominated for an Oscar. He and fellow Disney man David Detiege replaced Warner Brothers top writers Michael Maltese and Warren Foster after they went to Hanna-Barbera to receive higher billing in the 1960s. Tweety is a yellow canary in the Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' series of animated cartoons. The name "Tweety" is a play on words, as it originally meant "sweetie", along with "tweet" being an English onomatopoeia for the sounds of birds. His characteristics are based on Red Skelton's famous "Junior the Mean Widdle Kid." He appeared in 46 cartoons during the golden age, made between 1942 and 1964. Tiny Tim (A Christmas Carol)
:; Timothy "Tiny Tim" Cratchit is a fictional character from the 1843 novella '' A Christmas Carol'' by Charles Dickens. Although seen only briefly, he is a major character, and serves as an important symbol of the consequences of the protagonist's choices. Character overview Tiny Tim is the young, ailing son of Bob Cratchit, Ebenezer Scrooge’s underpaid clerk. When Scrooge is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Present he is shown just how ill the boy really is (the family cannot afford to properly treat him on the salary Scrooge pays Cratchit). When visited by the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, Scrooge sees that Tiny Tim has died. This, and several other visions, led Scrooge to reform his ways. Foghorn Leghorn is a cartoon rooster who appears in ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' cartoons and films from Warner Bros. Animation.
