Santo Amaro (district Of São Paulo)
Santo Amaro is a district located within the subprefecture of the same name in the southern area of the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It was formerly a separate municipality from 1832 until 1935, when it was incorporated into the city of São Paulo. The district spans an area of 16.04 km² (6.19 sq mi), with a population of 85,349 recorded by the 2022 Brazilian census. Its most central part is the Largo 13 de Maio, where the Santo Amaro Cathedral and the Marco Zero ( kilometre zero) of the old city of Santo Amaro are located. A German international school, Colégio Humboldt São Paulo (formerly named Ginásio Humboldt), is also located in Santo Amaro. The São Paulo Metro (, ), commonly called the ''Metrô'', is one of the rapid transit companies serving the city of São Paulo, alongside the Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos, São Paulo Metropolitan Trains Company (CPTM), Via Quatro and Via Mobilidade, all four forming the largest Transport in São Paulo#Rail transport, metropolitan rail transport network of Latin America. The metro system carries about 4,200,000 passengers a day. The six lines in the metro system operate on of route, serving 91 stations. It is complemented by a network of metropolitan trains operated by CPTM and ViaMobilidade, which serve the city of São Paulo and the Greater São Paulo, São Paulo Metropolitan Region. Line 5 (São Paulo Metro)
Line 5 (Lilac) () is one of the six lines that make up the São Paulo Metro and one of the 13 lines that make up the Metropolitan Rail Transportation Network. The line transports about 600,000 people every business day, and since August 2018 it is operated by the private company ViaMobilidade. The southern section of the line, between Largo Treze and Capão Redondo was completed in 2002 and was envisioned as a railway line of the CPTM called Line G. The project was transferred to the São Paulo Metro and renamed to Line 5 - Lilac. A northern extension connecting it with the rest of the São Paulo Metro network started construction 2009 with a completion deadline of 2013. The project stalled due to issues with property acquisition and restarted in 2011. The completion deadline of the extension has been delayed several times, but it has been reached on 8 April 2019. Campo Belo is a station of São Paulo Metro. It opened on 8 April 2019. It is operated by ViaMobilidade and belongs to Line 5-Lilac, which connected with the metropolitan network of São Paulo in September 2018 with the opening of stations Chácara Klabin, which connects to Line 2-Green, and Santa Cruz, which connects to Line 1-Blue. It was the last station to be delivered in the expansion plan of the line.
