Breaks Co-Op
Breaks Co-Op is a New Zealand band, formed in 1997, initially recorded with Deepgrooves Entertainment and more recently with EMI. Band The band members are Andy Lovegrove, Zane Lowe, and Hamish Clark (musician), Hamish Clark. Lowe had collaborated with Clark when Lowe was a member of hip-hop group Urban Disturbance. Lowe and Clark formed Breaks Co-Op in Auckland, releasing the electronic album ''Roofers (album), Roofers'' in 1997 before they both left New Zealand to travel and pursue other interests. They ended up in the UK, where Lowe became a radio DJ and TV presenter. After several years hiatus, Lowe and Clark started working on new material in 2004, recruiting Andy Lovegrove from artist/producers The Away Team (group), The Away Team after hearing a vocal demo. Rodney Fisher
Goodshirt are an Alternative rock, alternative/Pop music, pop/Rock music, rock band from Auckland, New Zealand. The band formed when keyboardist Gareth Thomas left his computer recording setup with the Fisher brothers, Rodney and Murray, for safe keeping. While still a three piece, the band submitted their song "Good (Goodshirt album), Green" to a track competition run by radio station 9inety6dot1. Subsequently, station manager Grant Hislop became their manager, and the band was rounded out with drummer Mike Beehre joining the fold. The Official Aotearoa Music Charts, formerly the Official New Zealand Music Chart (), is the weekly New Zealand top 40 singles and albums charts, issued weekly by Recorded Music NZ (formerly Recording Industry Association of New Zealand). Jordan Reyne
Jordan Reyne is an experimental musician currently residing in Toruń, Poland. Jordan's sound has been variously described as "industrial-tinged folk" and "antipodean Steampunk" yet defies any cut and dried genre description. She combines the two usually disparate genres of folk and industrial, bringing in Celtic vocal melody, historically-based narrative and the sounds of steam, iron and industrial "found sound". Several of her releases are set in the time of the Industrial Revolution. Early life Reyne came from England. Soon after her birth, her parents moved with her to New Zealand. Reyne grew up in an isolated community on the west coast of New Zealand's South Island, 30km south of Westport. In sound and music, sampling is the reuse of a portion (or sample) of a sound recording in another recording. Samples may comprise elements such as rhythm, melody, speech, or sound effects. A sample might comprise only a fragment of sound, or a longer portion of music, such as a drum beat or melody. Samples are often layered, Equalization (audio), equalized, sped up or slowed down, repitched, Loop (music), looped, or otherwise manipulated. Turntablism is the art of manipulating sounds and creating new music, sound effects, mixes and other creative sounds and beats, typically by using two or more Phonograph, turntables and a cross fader-equipped DJ mixer. The mixer is plugged into a PA system (for live events) or broadcasting equipment (if the DJ is performing on radio, TV or Internet radio) so that a wider audience can hear the turntablist's music.
