''Breakin News'' is the eighth studio album by American rapper E-40. It was released on September 9, 2003, by Sick Wid It Records and Jive Records. Background Recording sessions took place at The Orange Room, The Cosmic Slop Shop in Sacramento, The Archives, Hard Knock Studios, Right Track Studios in New York City, Bosko's Chicken and Beats Studios in Los Angeles, and The Pharmacy Recording. Production was handled by Rick Rock, Big Smash, Bosko, Caviar, CMT, Droop-E, E-A-Ski, Lil' Jon, Mo Mo, Nick Fury, Overdose and Sam Bostic, with E-40 serving as executive producer. E-40
Earl Tywone Stevens (born November 15, 1967), better known by his stage name E-40, is an American rapper. Stevens is a founding member of the rap group The Click (band), The Click and the founder of Sick Wid It Records. He has released 27 studio albums to date, appeared on numerous movie soundtracks, and has also done guest appearances on a host of other rap albums. Initially an Underground music, underground artist, his 1995 solo album ''In a Major Way'' opened him up to a wider audience. Beginning in 1998, he began collaborating with mainstream rappers outside the San Francisco Bay Area. Regarded as a progenitor of the club-oriented hip-hop subgenre crunk, his production and voice presence were instrumental in the genre's commercial breakthrough in the early 2000s. Marvin Watson Jr. (born March 19, 1976), better known by his stage name Messy Marv, is an American rapper from San Francisco, California. Messy was also known as a collaborator in the rap group Kaalman's Krew. Career Messy Marv released his first rap album, ''Messy Situationz'', in 1996. ''Explosive Mode'', his 1998 collaboration album with San Quinn, sold more than 50,000 copies. Goapele Mohlabane ( ; born July 11, 1977) is an American soul and R&B singer-songwriter. Her name means ''to move forward'' in Setswana, a Southern African language. Early life Goapele's South African father Douglas Mohlabane was an exiled political activist who struggled against the Apartheid System. Goapele's New York-born Israeli Jewish mother Noa had been attending protests since the age of 12. Noa attended Friends World College and was studying in Nairobi, Kenya, where she met and married Douglas. Goapele and her older brother DJ Namane Mohlabane were raised in a South African exile community in California. Both of her parents inspired Goapele to become very involved in community affairs at a young age. She attended the Berkeley Arts Magnet School, where she led a pre-teen peer-support group. Keith Grayson (August 14, 1966 – April 17, 2022), professionally known as DJ Kay Slay, was an American disc jockey (DJ) from New York City. Lavell William Crump (born April 11, 1974), known professionally as David Banner, is an American rapper, record producer, and actor. Born in Brookhaven, Mississippi, Banner's family moved to Jackson, Mississippi, where he was raised. Clipse, also known as the Clipse, is an American hip-hop, hip hop duo from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Formed in 1994, it consists of brothers No Malice, Gene "Malice" and Pusha T, Terrence "Pusha T" Thornton. Pusha T was known as Terrar during the group's early years, while No Malice was originally known as Malicious, but changed his stage name to Malice soon after the group's formation, before changing it to No Malice in 2012 following his conversion to Christianity. The Federation is an American hip hop group from Fairfield, California. The group was formed in 2002, composed of producer Ricardo "Rick Rock" Thomas and three rappers: Anthony "Goldie Gold" Caldwell, Marvin "Doonie Baby/Doon Koon" Selmon and Thomas "Stressmatic" Jackson.
