Battle of Los Angeles (2011) was the seventh Battle of Los Angeles professional wrestling tournament produced by Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG). The event took place on August 20, 2011, at the American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, Los Angeles, California. It marked the first time that the Battle of Los Angeles tournament was held over one night. The event concluded with a tournament final in which El Generico defeated Kevin Steen. The card included non-tournament matches aside from the tournament which saw The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) retain the World Tag Team Championship against The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli) and The Dynasty ( Joey Ryan and Scorpio Sky) defeat The RockNES Monsters (Johnny Goodtime and Johnny Yuma) to become the #1 contenders for the World Tag Team Championship. Rami Sebei (born July 12, 1984) is a Canadian professional wrestler. He is signed to WWE, where he performs on the Raw brand under the ring name Sami Zayn. Sebei made his professional wrestling debut in 2002 under the ring name Stevie McFly. Joseph Ryan Meehan (born November 7, 1979), is an American actor, writer, producer, retired professional wrestler and promoter. He has been a member of SAG-AFTRA since 2014. During his early years as a professional wrestler, he founded the Southern California promotion Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) with five other wrestlers, where he held the PWG World and PWG World Tag Team Championships. Brainbuster
A brainbuster is a professional wrestling throw in which a wrestler puts the opponent in a front facelock, hooks their pants or thigh, and lifts them up as if they were executing a vertical suplex. The wrestler then falls onto their back so that the opponent lands on their head while remaining vertical. This move is a version of the DDT. It was innovated by Killer Karl Kox. In Japanese ''puroresu'', the term "brainbuster" refers to a regular vertical suplex, while the move elsewhere known as a brainbuster is referred to as a "sheer drop brainbuster" or a "vertical (drop) brainbuster". Kings Of Wrestling
The Kings of Wrestling was a professional wrestling stable that worked on the independent circuit. It was formed in Chikara as a large stable, but also appeared in numerous promotions mainly as a tag team of Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli. Hero's manager Larry Sweeney and valet Sara Del Rey were also part of the group at differing times. The group also comprised Icarus and Gran Akuma who teamed separately as Team F.I.S.T. (Friends in Similar Tights) as well as Arik Cannon, Mitch Ryder, Max Boyer, Chuck Taylor and Shayne Hawke. The name is most commonly associated with the tag team of Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli. Sharpshooter (professional Wrestling)
The ''Sharpshooter'', also known as the ''Scorpion Deathlock'' and technically known as the ''sasori-gatame'' (蠍固め or サソリ固め; English: scorpion hold), is a professional wrestling submission hold. Similar to several holds such as the cloverleaf leg-lace, the ''Boston crab'' and the standing reverse figure-four leglock, the move was invented by Karl Gotch, and given to Riki Choshu, one of his students. It was then popularized by Sting and Bret Hart as the Scorpion Deathlock and Sharpshooter respectively. The hold begins with the opponent supine on the mat. In professional wrestling, a pin is a move where a wrestler holds an opponent's shoulders to the mat in an attempt to score a fall. A pinfall is a common victory condition, where the attacker pins an opponent and the referee makes a three count before the opponent gets released from the pin. Background The origin of the pinfall is the pin from amateur wrestling, whereby pinning an opponent to the mat will result in an automatic victory despite any points scored. However, while an amateur wrestling pin need be only one or two seconds, the count in professional wrestling is based on the referee's arm gestures, regardless of how much actual time elapses, and is to three slaps of the mat.
