Alan John Bassham (3 October 1933 – 1982) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League for Brentford as a right back. Club career Bassham began his career in the youth team at Second Division club Brentford as an inside or outside forward and was developed into a right half. Diane C. Bassham is a plant pathologist and professor at Iowa State University. Bassham earned a bachelor's of science degree in biochemistry at the University of Birmingham, followed by a doctorate in biological sciences from the University of Warwick. She joined the Iowa State University faculty in 2001, where she was promoted from assistant to associate professor. In 2013, Bassham became the first holder of the Walter E. and Helen Parke Loomis Professorship of Plant Physiology. She was invited to join Faculty 1000 in 2017. James Bassham
James Alan Bassham (November 26, 1922 – November 19, 2012) was an American scientist known for his work on photosynthesis. He received a B.S. degree in chemistry in 1945 from the University of California, Berkeley, earning his Ph.D. degree from Berkeley in 1949. His graduate studies were on the subject of carbon reduction during photosynthesis, working with Melvin Calvin in the Bio-Organic Chemistry Group of the Lawrence Radiation Laboratory at the University of California. He discovered, with Melvin Calvin and Andrew Benson, the Calvin-Benson-Bassham cycle. He continued his work as Associate Director of this group.
