Dick Barnett
Richard Barnett (October 2, 1936 – April 27, 2025) was an American professional basketball player who was a shooting guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Syracuse Nationals, Los Angeles Lakers, and New York Knicks. He won two NBA championships with the Knicks. Barnett was also a member of the Cleveland Pipers in the American Basketball League. He played college basketball for the Tennessee A&I State Tigers. Barnett was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2024. Guy Barnett (born 4 April 1962) is an Australian politician. He is a member of the Liberal Party and was appointed deputy premier of Tasmania in 2024. He has been a member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly since 2014 and has been a state government minister since 2016. He was previously a Senator for Tasmania from 2002 to 2011. Gary Lee Barnett (born May 23, 1946) is a former American football player and coach. He served as the head coach at Fort Lewis College (1982–1983), Northwestern University (1992–1998), and the University of Colorado at Boulder (1999–2005), compiling a career college football record of 92–94–2. Fred “Arkansas” Lee Barnett (born June 17, 1966) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. He played college football at Arkansas State University and was selected by the Eagles in the third round of the 1990 NFL draft. Frank Elliott Barnett (July 20, 1933 – July 15, 2016) was the governor of American Samoa from October 1, 1976, to May 27, 1977. Before becoming governor, he was a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent and a Tennessee attorney. He served as the first lieutenant governor of American Samoa for two years prior to his governorship. Euphemia Cowan Barnett FLS (1890–1970) was a Scottish botanist known for her research of the flora of Thailand, particularly Fagaceae. Biography Barnett was educated at the High School for Girls in Aberdeen, she then went on to study botany at the University of Aberdeen graduating with a BSc in 1918. After graduation she worked as an assistant to Professors J. W. H. Trail and W. G. Craib at the university and studied the botanical specimens that Crab and Dr A.F.G. Bell had collected in Thailand.
