Selangor
Selangor ( ; ), also known by the Arabic language, Arabic honorific Darul Ehsan, or "Abode of Sincerity", is one of the 13 states of Malaysia. Teng Chang Khim
Yang Berbahagia Dato' Teng Chang Khim (; born 2 June 1963) is a Malaysian politician and lawyer who served as a Senior Member of the Selangor State Executive Council (EXCO) in three successive Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administrations from May 2013 to August 2023. He also served as the 9th Speaker of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly from April 2008 to May 2013. Having retired from active politics, Teng remains member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan. Democratic Action Party (Malaysia)
The Democratic Action Party (DAP; ) is a social democratic and secular political party in Malaysia, sitting on the centre-left of the political spectrum. As one of four component parties of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, it formed the federal government after defeating Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 2018 Malaysian general election, ending the party's 53 year-long stay in the opposition. However, before the coalition finished its first term, defections from partnering parties caused it to lose power after 22 months, culminating in the 2020 Malaysian political crisis. Tan Seng Giaw (; born 26 May 1942) is a veteran Malaysian from the Democratic Action Party (DAP). Background He was born on 26 May 1942 in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. After attending Primary and High School in Kelantan and Penang respectively, he furthered his education at Plymouth College and Leeds University, England.
