Berhampore (), also known as Baharampur (), is a city and a municipality in the state of West Bengal, India. Berhampore is the administrative headquarters of the Murshidabad district. As of 2011 census, Berhampore is the seventh largest city in West Bengal. It is located about from Kolkata, the state capital. Berhampore is one of the most important business, administrative, educational and political hub of Bengal as well as of India. It is one of the most popular urban agglomerations of West Bengal state. Berhampore was the first centre of East India Company in India. Murshidabad District
Murshidabad district is a district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Situated on the left bank of the river Ganges, the district is very fertile. Covering an area of and having a population 7.103 million (according to 2011 census), it is a densely populated district and the ninth most populous in India (out of 640). Berhampore city is the headquarters of the district. The Murshidabad city, which lends its name to the district, was the seat of power of the Nawabs of Bengal. Yusuf Pathan
Yusuf Khan Pathan ( born 17 November 1982) is an Indian former cricketer and politician of the Trinamool Congress. Pathan made his debut in first-class cricket in 2001/02. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. His younger brother, Irfan Pathan was also an Indian cricketer. Pathan retired from all forms of cricket in February 2021. He was a member of the Indian team that won both the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Murshidabad University is a public state university in Berhampore, Murshidabad, West Bengal. The university was established in 2021 by the West Bengal government under ''The Murshidabad University Act, 2018''.It is named after a great thinker, and the first Nawab of Bengal Murshid Quli Khan. Khagra
Khagra is a locality of Baharampur in Murshidabad district in the Indian States and territories of India, state of West Bengal. It is renowned for its manufacture of bell-metal and brass utensils, as well as ivory and wood carving. Geography Khagra is situated on the east bank of the Hooghly River, Bhagirathi-Hooghly. Muslin
Muslin () is a cotton fabric of plain weave. It is made in a wide range of weights from delicate sheers to coarse sheeting. It is commonly believed that it gets its name from the city of Mosul, Iraq. Muslin was produced in different regions of the Indian subcontinent; Bengal Region was the main manufacturing area and the main centers were Sonargaon (near Dhaka), Shantipur and Murshidabad.
