Idrus Harun
Idrus bin Azizan Harun ( Jawi: إدروس بن عزيزان هارون; born 2 February 1955) is a Malaysian lawyer who has served as the ninth Attorney General of Malaysia since March 2020. Early life and education Idrus was born in Kampung Sanglang, Kedah in 1955. He attended to Ayer Hitam Secondary School and Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid. He obtained a bachelor's degree in law in honours from University of Malaya in 1980. Career Following his graduation from University of Malaya in 1980, Idrus started his career as a lawyer. Mohtar Abdullah
Tan Sri Mohtar bin Abdullah was a Malaysian lawyer. He was the Attorney General of Malaysia from 1994 to 2000 and also served as a judge in the High Court and Federal Court. Biography Mohtar studied at the University of Singapore. He entered the judicial and legal service in 1971. He served as a judge on the High Court from 1990 to 1994 before being appointed Attorney General. After his tenure as Attorney General, he was appointed to the Federal Court in January 2002. Less than three months into his term, he suffered a stroke. After surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain, Mohtar fell into coma for a nearly year. He died on July 7, 2003, in Kuala Lumpur Hospital aged 59. Hamzah Abu Samah
Hamzah bin Abu Samah (5 January 1924 – 4 September 2012) was a Malaysian politician, lawyer and sports administrator who served as the president of Asian Football Confederation from 9 December 1978 to 1 August 1994. In 2006, he was conferred the FIFA Order of Merit for his contribution towards Asian football. He also one of the fourth Malaysian to join the exclusive club of AFC Diamond of Asia Award with Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak, Sultan Ahmad Shah and Sultan Abdullah. Abdul Kadir Yusuf
Abdul Kadir Yusof ( ms, عبدالقادر بن يوسف, label= Jawi, script=arab, italic=unset; 10 September 1917 – 18 April 1992) was a Malaysian politician. A lawyer by profession, Abdul Kadir held the posts of Attorney General and Solicitor-General at various points during his lifetime. He was also the Minister of Law. Together with his wife Fatimah Hashim, former Welfare Minister, Abdul Kadir represented one half of the first couple to be on the Malaysian cabinet. Life Abdul Kadir was born in Parit Sakai, Muar, Johor in 1917. During his lifetime, he was a member of the United Malays National Organisation, the leading party in the ruling coalition Barisan Nasional. He was a Tenggaroh State Assemblyman. Sir Michael Joseph Patrick Hogan, (15 March 1908 – 27 September 1986) was an Irish lawyer and judge in the British Empire. He served as Chief Justice of Hong Kong for 14 years. Early life Hogan was born on 15 March 1908 in Dublin, Ireland. He was educated at Belvedere College, Dublin (1919–1924), and Stonyhurst College, Lancashire (1924–1925). He then attended Trinity College Dublin, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal and Political Science with First Class Honours and was awarded the gold medal. Stafford () is a market town and the county town of Staffordshire, in the West Midlands region of England. It lies about north of Wolverhampton, south of Stoke-on-Trent and northwest of Birmingham. Judiciary of Malaysia is largely centralised despite Malaysia's federal constitution, heavily influenced by the English common law, as well as Islamic jurisprudence. Current system There are generally two types of trials, criminal and civil. The hierarchy of courts begins from the Magistrates' Court, Sessions Court, High Court, Court of Appeal, and finally, the Federal Court. The jurisdiction of the courts in civil or criminal matters are contained in the Subordinate Courts Act 1948 and the Courts of Judicature Act 1964.
