Arvind Swami
Arvind Swamy (born 18 June 1970) is an Indian actor, model, entrepreneur and television presenter known for his work in Tamil cinema and a few Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam films. He was introduced as an actor by Mani Ratnam with the blockbuster film ''Thalapathi'' (1991) and subsequently starred in successful films such as ''Roja'' (1992), ''Bombay'' (1995), ''Minsara Kanavu'' (1997), ''Thani Oruvan'' (2015), and ''Chekka Chivantha Vaanam'' (2018). He made his debut as a director in the Netflix anthology series ''Navarasa'' (2021) in which his segment named '' Project Agni (Adbhutha – Wonder)''. Swamy also starred in other regional film industries, including Telugu and Malayalam films where he has done films such as ''Mounam'' (1995), ''Daddy'' (1992) and ''Devaraagam'' (1996). ''Roja'' () is a 1992 Indian Tamil-language romantic thriller film written and directed by Mani Ratnam. It stars Arvind Swami and Madhoo, with the latter in the title role. It follows a simple girl from a village in Tamil Nadu, making desperate efforts to find her husband after he is kidnapped by militants during a secret undercover mission in Jammu and Kashmir. The film was produced by K. Balachander under his Kavithalayaa Productions and distributed by G. Venkateswaran. Devaraagam
''Devaraagam'' is a 1996 Indian Malayalam-language film directed by Bharathan and starring Sridevi and Arvind Swamy. It also had KPAC Lalitha, Kozhikode Narayanan Nair, Zeenath, and Nedumudi Venu in supporting roles. The film was famous for its music which was composed by M. M. Keeravani. All the songs topped the hit charts. This was the movie in which actress Sridevi came back to Malayalam Industry after a long gap, as she was concentrated on her Bollywood career. A Tamil and Telugu dubbed version of the film was also released. Sridevi was reported to do a sequel titled as Sree Sree Devaraagam but the project was shelved post her untimely demise. Telugu cinema, also known as Tollywood, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Telugu language, widely spoken in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. ''Chekka Chivantha Vaanam'' () is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language crime drama film directed by Mani Ratnam, co-written with Siva Ananth.
