Armenia International Footballers
The Armenia national football team has represented Armenia in international association football since 1992 after the country declared independence following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. Prior to this, Armenian players had represented the Soviet Union national football team. The team is governed by the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) and competes as a member of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), which encompasses the countries of Europe and Israel. Having gained independence, the FFA was founded in 1992 and became a member of UEFA and Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) in the same year. The team played its first international match on 14 October 1992, drawing 0–0 with Moldova in a friendly, although the match is not recognised by FIFA as Moldova were not affiliated with the organisation at the time. Sargis Hovsepyan
Sargis Hovsepyan ( hy, Սարգիս Հովսեփյան; born on 2 November 1972) is an Armenian former professional footballer who played as a right-back. Hovsepyan was the long-time captain of the Armenia national team. He participated in 133 international matches and scored two goals since his debut in the national team's first game in a home friendly match against Moldova on 14 October 1992. Hovsepyan ended his career on 14 November 2012 at the age of 39, just over a month before turning 40 years old. He was the last member of the first Armenia national team to retire. After his final match, he was awarded the Medal of the City Hall. A month after the completion of his playing career, he was appointed director of the Armenia national team. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. An exhibition game (also known as a friendly, a scrimmage, a demonstration, a preseason game, a warmup match, or a preparation match, depending at least in part on the sport) is a sporting event whose prize money and impact on the player's or the team's rankings is either zero or otherwise greatly reduced. Roman Berezovsky
Roman Anatoliyevich Berezovsky ( hy, Ռոման Բերեզովսկի; russian: Рома́н Анато́льевич Березо́вский ; born 5 August 1974) is an Armenian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Berezovsky is the caretaker manager of the Armenia national team. He previously played for Zenit Saint Petersburg, Khimki and Torpedo Moscow, among other clubs. He also holds a Russian passport. The Guatemala national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Guatemala) represents Guatemala in men's international association football, football and is controlled by the ''National Football Federation of Guatemala, Federación Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala''. A hat-trick or hat trick is the achievement of a generally positive feat three times in a match, or another achievement based on the number three. Origin The term first appeared in 1858 in cricket, to describe H. H. Stephenson taking three wickets with three consecutive deliveries. Fans held a collection for Stephenson, and presented him with a hat bought with the proceeds. The term was used in print for the first time in 1865 in the ''Chelmsford Chronicle''. Artur Petrosyan
Artur Petrosyan ( hy, Արթուր Պետրոսյան; born 17 December 1971) is a former Armenian football player who played as a midfielder. He worked as the manager of Armenia national football team. He is currently the manager of Grasshopper Club Zürich's under 18 squad. Career Petrosyan was the all-time leading scorer for the Armenia national football team, having scored 11 goals, and had participated in 69 international matches since his debut in the national team's first game in a home friendly match against Moldova on 14 October 1992. Henrikh Mkhitaryan ( hy, Հենրիխ Մխիթարյան, ; born 21 January 1989) is an Armenian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for club Inter Milan. Lithuania National Football Team
The Lithuania national football team ( lt, Lietuvos nacionalinė futbolo rinktinė) represents Lithuania in international football and is controlled by the Lithuanian Football Federation, the governing body for football in Lithuania. They played their first match in 1923. In 1940, Lithuania was occupied by the Soviet Union; the country regained its independence in 1990 and played their first match thereafter against Georgia on 27 May of that year.
