Aquatica is a chain of water parks owned and operated by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. Aquatica parks are operating in Orlando, Florida and San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas. History SeaWorld Orlando originally announced plans to build a water park on July 15, 2005. Aquatica (Kolkata)
Aquatica is a 705000sq ft (17 acre) water theme park in Kochpukur, under Bhangar 2 cd block of Baruipur sub division, South 24 pgs district, Greater Kolkata, India. The theme park was started in 1999. It is one of the largest water amusement parks in and around Kolkata, as well as eastern India. It is quite a popular destination on the day of Holi. The Green Connection is an aquarium and science discovery center in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. The Green Connection opened in May 2010 and is located just outside downtown Kota Kinabalu in the Northwest corner of the island of Borneo. History In 2005, the location where the aquarium now stands was a vacant swamp. Prof. Steve Oakley, a marine biologist, working at the University Malaysia Sarawak's (Unimas) Institute of Biodiversity and Environmental Conservation, and the scientists working with him, were studying and working on rejuvenating coral reefs and rescuing marine life. ''Psathyrella aquatica'' is a species of fungus from Oregon, first described in the journal ''Mycologia'' in 2010. It represents the first ever report of a gilled basidiomycete fruiting underwater. Discovery It was found by Southern Oregon University professor Robert Coffan in the Rogue River in the U.S. state of Oregon. Coffan and his colleagues, Darlene Southworth and Jonathan Frank, found the mushroom in 2005. The biology department at Southern Oregon University confirmed that the mushroom was a unique discovery.
