Anthony Williams (diplomat)
Sir Anthony James Williams (28 May 1923 – 7 May 1990) was a British diplomat. He attended Oundle School and Trinity College, Oxford, where he read Philosophy, politics and economics. He joined the Foreign Office in 1945. He served several overseas posts including being stationed in the UN offices in Geneva and New York, and was present in Egypt during the Suez Crisis in 1956. He was Ambassador to Cambodia from 1970 to 1973, and then after a in Rome as Minister. He became Ambassador to Libya from 1977 to 1980, and Ambassador to Argentina from 1980 to 1982; his term in Argentina was disrupted by the Falklands War. During his retirement, he served as President of the Society for Libyan Studies. Williams was grandson of the chancery lawyer Lord Wrenbury and nephew of Sir Denys Burton Buckley. Anthony Williams (born c. 1822, date of death unknown) was a Union Navy sailor in the American Civil War and a recipient of the U.S. military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions during the Wilmington Campaign. Born in about 1822 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Williams was living in Portsmouth, Maine, when he joined the Navy. Anthony Lewis Elliott Williams ChStJ (5 February 189231 August 1975) was a British Anglican bishop. He was the third Bishop of Bermuda, serving from 1956 to 1962. Early life and education Williams was educated at the King's School, Worcester, an independent school in Worcester, Worcestershire. He studied at Exeter College, Oxford, and trained for Holy Orders at Salisbury Theological College, an Anglican theological college. Ordained ministry Williams was ordained in the Church of England as a deacon in 1915 and as a priest in 1916. Anthony Simon Williams (born 20 September 1977) is a Welsh football coach and former professional footballer who is currently manager of Cymru Premier side Aberystwyth Town As a player, he was a goalkeeper from 1994 until 2012. Anthony Williams, ORTT, CM (24 June 1931 – 21 December 2021), also known as "Muffman", was an inventor, pioneer and musician of the steel pan. Life Williams was born on 24 June 1931, at the General Hospital in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago and grew up in Nepal Street, St. James. He was initiated as a player of the steelpan in the band, "Five Graves to Cairo" of Carlton Street, St. James. At the age of 12, he played with Harlem Nightingale Steelband, for the first street Carnival, which was held after World War II. Williams went on to become the leading Ping Pong player in the band Sun Valleyians, which comprised a group of teenagers and grew to become the legendary steel orchestra, Sun Valley. Williams was a recipient of the Chaconia Medal (Gold) and the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago from the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. Anthony Williams (May 17, 1972 – September 19, 2009), better known as Roc Raida or Grandmaster Roc Raida, was an American DJ, turntablist and producer. He was also a member of the DJ group the X-Ecutioners. He joined the X-Men in the late 1980s, but due to copyright reasons, the group later became known as the X-Ecutioners. The group released three studio albums, 1997's '' X-Pressions'', 2002's '' Built from Scratch'' and 2004's ''Revolutions''.
