Anna Gertrude Hall (1882–1967) was a well known children and young adult author. Honored with a Newbery Medal honor in 1941 for her novel, '' Nansen''. Anna Gertrude Hall was born in West Bloomfield, New York to Myron Edwin and Anna (Sterling) Hall. She received an A.B in 1906 from Leland Stanford Junior University. She also earned a B.L.S in 1916 from New York State Library School. Hall worked at Stanford University as a librarian and cataloger between the years of 1906 and 1962. Anna Maria Hall (6 January 1800 – 30 January 1881) was an Irish novelist who often published as "Mrs. S. C. Hall". She married Samuel Carter Hall, a writer on art, who described her in ''Retrospect of a Long Life, from 1815 to 1883''. She was born Anna Maria Fielding in Dublin, but left Ireland for England at the age of 15. Life Hall was born in Dublin on 6 January 1800. She lived with her mother, a widow named Sarah Elizabeth Fielding, and stepfather, George Carr of Graigie, Wexford, until 1815. The daughter came to England with her mother in 1815. Anna Hall (born 23 March 2001) is an American athlete specializing in the combined events. She won the silver medal in the heptathlon at the 2023 World Championships and the bronze medal at the 2022 World Championships. Hall is the North American indoor record holder for the pentathlon. Her heptathlon and pentathlon best scores place her fifth and fourth on the respective world all-time lists. Anna Elise Hall (; born July 8, 1999) is an American professional volleyball player who plays as a middle blocker for the United States women's national volleyball team and Italian Series A1 professional team Cuneo Granda Volley. Early life Hall grew up in Laurens, South Carolina and attended Laurens High School, where she played volleyball. She was the 82nd nationally ranked recruit in her graduating class, and was high school All-American. With her high school club team, she was a two-time national champion.
