Angela D'Amore
Angela D'Amore (born 10 October 1971), an Australian former politician, was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, representing the electorate of Drummoyne from 2003 until 2011. Background and early years D'Amore is the daughter of immigrants, who migrated from Italy in 1964. She was educated at Bethlehem College, Ashfield and the University of Sydney and was an officer for the Municipal Employees Union and the NSW Nurses’ Association. New South Wales state politics D'Amore was elected at the 2003 NSW state election. In March 2010, she was appointed Parliamentary Secretary Assisting the Minister for Police, and Parliamentary Secretary Assisting the Minister for Climate Change and Environment in the Keneally Labor government. Drummoyne is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It is represented by John Sidoti. The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) is an agency of the Government of New South Wales responsible for eliminating and investigating corrupt activities and enhancing the integrity of the state's public administration. The Commission was established in 1989, pursuant to the , modeled after the ICAC in Hong Kong. It is led by a Chief Commissioner appointed for a fixed five-year term; and two part-time Commissioners. Then-NSW Premier Mike Baird suggested in November 2016 his desire to move from a sole Commissioner to a three-commissioner system, however this was strongly criticised by two former ICAC commissioners as weakening and politicising the organisation, leading to the resignation of then-Commissioner Megan Latham. The Iron Cove Bridge is a heritage-listed road bridge that carries Victoria Road (A40) across Iron Cove, linking the Sydney suburbs of Drummoyne to Rozelle in the City of Canada Bay local government area of New South Wales, Australia. John Murray (New South Wales Politician)
John Henry Murray (born 14 July 1939) is an Australian politician. He was a Labor Party member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1982 to 2003, representing the electorate of Drummoyne. Murray was the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly from 1995 until his retirement in 2003. Murray was born in Sydney, and attended Lakemba Primary School, Canterbury Boys High School and Enmore Boys High School. He studied teaching at Sydney Teachers College and the University of Sydney, and went on to teach at Finley High School, Ashfield Boys High School and Picnic Point High School. He was also involved in local politics, serving as an alderman on Drummoyne Municipal Council from 1973 to 1983, including four years as mayor, and serving as a councillor on the Sydney County Council from 1980 to 1984.
