Andrew Davies (Labour Politician)
Andrew David Davies (born 5 May 1952) is a Welsh politician who represented the constituency of Swansea West in the National Assembly for Wales from 1999 to 2011. He is a member of Welsh Labour. Davies was born in Hereford to Welsh parents; his mother is from Llandeilo and his father from Holywell, Flintshire. Davies attended Hereford Cathedral School and Swansea University, where he trained as a teacher. Professional career He worked for the Ford Motor Company and a public affairs company. Davies is also a qualified counsellor and has lectured in further, higher and continuing education. Andrew RT Davies
Andrew Robert Tudor Davies CBE (born 1968) is a Welsh politician who has served as Member of the Senedd for the South Wales Central region since 2007. He has previously served as Leader of the Welsh Conservative Senedd Group from 2011 to 2018 and 2021 to 2024. Both times Davies resigned due to pressure from within his party to do so. As a consequence of being leader of the Welsh Conservatives, he has served a total of four terms as Leader of the Opposition, from his first from 2011 to 2016, his second from 2017 to 2018, his third from January-March 2021 and his fourth and final from May 2021-2024. Andrew Davies (born 30 October 1979) is a Welsh, British long-distance runner and mountain runner. He competed in the men's marathon at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics, placing 31st in 2:17:59. Davies participated in the 2016 World Long Distance Mountain Running Championships held in Podbrdo, Slovenia. He placed 9th in the men's event, and second in the team event as part of the United Kingdom team. He represented Wales in the marathon at the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and 2018, finishing 17th and 11th respectively. He was fifth in the 2016 IAU 50 km World Championships, and ran a time of 2:15:11 at the 2017 London Marathon. In 2018, Davies won the 35-39 age category at the World Masters Mountain Running Championships. Andrew Davies (born 7 November 1976) is a Welsh cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. Davies was born in Neath and attended Dwyr-Y-Felin high school from 1988 to 1993. Andrew joined Christ College Brecon from 1993 to 1995 and boarded at School House Red. Davies played first team football, rugby and rugby sevens playing in the championship winning 7's team of 1994/95 under coach Jon Williams. Andrew captained the cricket team coached by Colin Kleiser. Davies made his Championship debut in 1995, and, despite having an early career full of injury, he continued to play through limited overs cricket. Andrew George Davies (born 15 May 1962) is a former English cricketer. Davies was a right-handed batsman who fielded as a wicket-keeper. Davies was born at Altrincham, Cheshire into a cricketing family. His uncles, Roy and Haydn Davies both played first-class cricket for Glamorgan. His son Jack currently plays for Middlesex. He made his first-class debut for Cambridge University against Essex in 1982. Davies played 21 further first-class matches for the university, the last of which came against Essex in 1989. In his 22 first-class matches, he scored 494 runs at a batting average of 19.00, with a high score of 69. This came against Surrey in 1984. Behind the stumps, he took 28 catches and made 4 stumpings. Andrew John Davies (born 17 December 1984) is an English former professional footballer who played as a centre back. Originally signing with Middlesbrough as a 13-year-old, Davies has played for 11 clubs at a variety of levels. He was loaned to Queens Park Rangers, Derby County and Southampton, signing with the latter after leaving Middlesbrough. Davies then played for Stoke City, Preston North End, Sheffield United, Walsall, Middlesbrough for a second time, Crystal Palace and Bradford City. In 2015, he moved to Scotland, signing with Ross County. Davies helped County win the 2015–16 Scottish League Cup, but left the club after they were relegated in 2018. Andy Davies is an English former football referee from Hampshire, known for being the only referee in the EFL who formally played for a football team. Career Davies began his career as a professional footballer, and had spells at Gillingham, Portsmouth and Yeovil Town. However, at age 28 he was forced to retire due to injury. His career as a referee began in the 2004–05 season, and he quickly advanced through the levels, before being promoted to the Football League as a referee in the 2012–13 season. He has since refereed over 200 games for the EFL. For the start of the 2016–17 season, Davies was included as a Select Group 2 referee, which sees him primarily referee in the Championship, for which he has refereed over 80 games.
