Ana And The Wolves
''Ana and the Wolves'' ( es, Ana y los lobos) is a 1973 Spanish drama film directed by Carlos Saura. Starring Geraldine Chaplin as a foreign governess who comes to an isolated house to take care of the children of a convoluted family. The film is encoded with political symbolism of Francoist Spain. Saura’s 1979 Mamá cumple cien años was a sequel of sorts. It was entered into the 1973 Cannes Film Festival. Plot Ana, a young foreign governess, arrives to an isolated country estate in arid region of Castile, near Madrid. Carlos Saura
Carlos Saura Atarés (born 4 January 1932) is a Spanish film director, photographer and writer. Along with Luis Buñuel and Pedro Almodóvar, he is considered to be one of Spain’s most renowned filmmakers. He has a long and prolific career that spans over half a century. His films have won many international awards. Saura began his career in 1955 making documentary shorts. He quickly gained international prominence when his first feature-length film premiered at Cannes Film Festival in 1960. José Vivó
José Vivó (19 May 1917 – 26 July 1989) was a Spanish television, theater and film actor. Life He studied engineering, but the Spanish Civil War forced him to leave his studies unfinished. He fought on the side of the Republican army and at the end of the conflict, he devoted himself fully to the world of acting. His career began in the theater in 1946. Elías Querejeta
Elías Querejeta Gárate (27 October 1934 – 9 June 2013), also known as Elías Querejeta () and known in the Spanish film industry as "The Producer", was a Spanish screenwriter and film producer. He is the father of Gracia Querejeta. Biography Querejeta was born in Hernani, Spain, and played soccer for Real Sociedad. By the age of 18 he was making his debut in the Spanish first division with San Sebastián's team, Real Sociedad (his position was midfielder; his brother José María also played, as a goalkeeper). But his career in sports ended in 1959, when he moved to Madrid to set up his own film production company. He produced some of the best-known Spanish films of the 1960s and 1970s and most notably worked with Carlos Saura (13 films), Víctor Erice (2 films), Montxo Armendáriz (4 times) and Fernando León de Aranoa (3 films).
